I put an ad on Craigslist for the first time yesterday. I'm selling two camera lenses.
A sketchy, full of scams service are the feelings I always had towards Craigslist.
Well, the first person wo answer my ad say :
''Hi.....how are you doing Do you still have it for sale and whats the condition lemme know ASAP''
First, people never ask how you are in ads like these, he got me suspicious already. Then the "ASAP" ... sending me the message that I must act quickly, second sign of sketchyness.
My Answer:
"Hi! still available. Like i said in the ad, its brand new, box open.. just tested the lenses in my house. Its like new 100% A1 Mint"She answered:
"Thanks so much for being sincere,the item is for my colleague as a gift but she's currently on vacation so i want you to help me post it to her,i'll add $90 for the postage,send me the PayPal money request of the total cost through PayPal so i can transfer the money asap."She thanks me for being sincere... people dont do politeness in online ads, i've sells a lot of thing on another service and people are always right to the point. Then she have a story with a friend blah blah... she want to pay 90$ extra, not negociate my price at all... waaait a minute. And again "ASAP"

Was off on holiday yesterday. Today (and tomorrow) work is closed and we are MEANT to 'work from home'. ;)
Yesterday I made a snowman (in pic) and today the snow was too fluffy to make anything substantial so built a snow cat to sit alongside him.
Had out wee 11 month old girl out, her first time walking in the snow. Was as deep as her waist in areas lol.

I've been lucky enough to get a job at IO Interactive as a UI designer and have been working there for the last three weeks. IO makes the Hitman video game series. A lot of really talented and friendly people, so I coudn't be happier.

Remember when Facebook allowed us to create lists so we could put all News related pages in a list, for exemple, or all Design related or a specific selection of contacts in a list that when clicked you see only the posts related to that topic.
Facebook has gone downhill since they removed this feature for me. it's just a pile of nonsense, and always the same sources of posts. Their algorythm is shit.

My best friend is having a kid in a few weeks. He told me that after him and his wife, he wanted me to be next to hold the child. I'm a tad terrified.
Full disclosure: I don't like kids. Never wanted em, never will have them, and generally don't like being around them. He's gonna be a great father and raise the kid right, but the whole sphere of parenthood is kind of alien to me.

I've been laughing off an on for a few minutes now.
While on a conference call, a younger designer was giving a presentation. Most of us were on mute listening in when all of a sudden she politely says "Would you all mind holding on for a moment,..."
At this point I believe she wanted to mute because out of no where...
"SHUT THE FUCK UP I AM ON A CALL. DO NOT TALK TO ME RIGHT NOW" screamed so loud into the mic it made my ears ring.
Then... dead silence for 5 seconds. Then 10. It was getting awkward. 15 seconds pass and now it's so fucking painfully awkward I decide to chime in (once I stopped pissing myself with laughter) and calmly try and give my 2 cents on the question she had asked just before going ape-shit, completely passing it off as if nothing had happened.
My slack feed exploded with laughter.
Holy shit we're going on 40 minutes now into the call and it's so painful. She's fresh out of college and this is her first design job. hahahha oh fuck me I can't stop laughing.

My webstats have been on a terrible downward trajectory for the last 10 months, which correlates with a drop in prospective business enquiries from new people. Thankfully I'm quite good at keeping existing clients and them in turn recommending me, so am still keeping my head above water, but yeah, not good.

I'm taking an 8 week sketch comedy writing workshop and everyone sends their scripts over before the class (Mondays). Week one, I actually got a chuckle out of my stone faced instructor. He doesn't give laughs out for free. We do table reads on all the material in session but I can't help but read what comes through beforehand. I was stressed about my work all week until I read the first two that trickled in tonight/morning. I'm definately not going to be the worst on week 2 so I'm relieved enough to sleep. I've been filling my notebook with quick ideas and pitches to get ahead, only one or two are fleshing out into 4-5 page script a week which is required. I know I need to work faster to turn all those ideas into meaty dialog and more complete sketches for professional work. But, honestly after working alone and freelance for so long, it's a win just to work around other people in a writers room environment, collaborate, and trade feedback.
I am completely paralyzed with anxiety about of one requirement of the class which is creating and performing a solo character sketch live in front of an audience (not just the class) before the 8 weeks is up. I love writing characters but not performing them. I'd rather cast someone else. I totally understand how helpful, say, improv or performing your own work is, especially at this level. But, I am painfully shy among large groups and having all eyes on me. I don't even like going to parties with lots of people. I stutter, and trip over my words, and I just want to disappear. I fucking hate it. I never want to be an actor -- ever ever ever. I just want to write.

Dating someone for a few mos who I really like... a great deal. Although, we are really kind of polar opposites in our lifestyles, and some of our philosophies (it seems). She's 5 years younger; usually 1-2yr younger (6-8 years older) is my range.
It's been quite some time since seriously dating someone and at that someone who makes me see the world in a kind of new light and it’s been amazing to, in this new connection, learn about what it means to begin care for, or about someone again (too soon?)
Our lifestyles are REALLY very different though. Could opposite sides of the coin last? While there's been a little bit more stressers than I'd like to experience because it seems so soon -- when I'm with her all the stuff that seems to come up, falls away. Not even sure what my gut is telling me to do at this point, but I’ll try to hang in there a bit longer despite the early arguments/frustrations. Or should I bail?
My older brother by 4 years (44) is getting married this year, I’ll be his best man & am so happy for him. Starting to feel like my time’s running out. Finances, and career wise things are good, just over wiping out my debt and on trajectory to buying a home this July. Almost got a pet (adopt papers all together)...
