My 2013 MacBook purrs heavy like a chubby cat whenever it wakes from sleep. I've opened her up a few times to inspect without seeing anything strange. I've cleaned her fans and looked for debris. Everything seems in order. Strangely, when the fan triggers on, the loud purring then stops.
It may be possessed by an internet demon.
Anywhoo, I may have to pick up an M1 series machine later this year as I need a 4k capable editing device. This girl struggles with 4k.

Weekly "Production Call" feels like I've wasted my life...
...Anyone else have a gruelling weekly call that is a stressor before and almost immediately AFTER as well?

At the behest of my wife I gave in and began my 2 weeks of vegan-only eating... I'm on day 7 and FUCK ME I'm down 6+ lbs?! I haven't really paid attention to my intake... I just order a few of 'what sounds good' items off the menus from a few local vegan joints and pig the fuck out.
So far my blood pressure and weight are both down (in just 7 days)... I most certainly feel more energetic. My belly doesn't bug me nearly as much and in case you wondering: I poop magically.
I'm not saying I'm going vegan... but my belly hasn't felt as soothed / content as it does since I can't remember when. Can't wait to see where I'm at in another week.

I just spent a good three minutes of my life swearing as I tried to size a some logo text, using one of the tall letters in it to dictate the height. A 'k'. Set a rectangle to the height I want, then scale the text to fit, should be easy, right? Except every time I sized it, I'd direct select the k to check its value and it would report being 2mm higher. Wat? Ok, I've done something wrong. Rinse, repeat, same result. Wat? Rinse, repeat, same result. Wat? Rinse, repeat, same result. Wat? Break entire wordform apart and re-build, Rinse, repeat, same result. Wat? Swear lots. Rinse, repeat, same result. Wat?
Zoom out a wee bit and then realise the foot on the k descends under the baseline like the rounded letters do. 2mm under.

I've been contemplating a switch to all vegetarian for a a while. Problem is: I eat a mostly low-carb diet. So, I already eat a shitload of vegetables and nuts. But, the rest of the diet is mostly beef and fish (never really cared for poultry).
So, I bought a 2-pack of Beyond Meat burgers to try out. They looked the part (which honestly doesn't matter to me), and smelled ok "raw", so I threw one in a pan to cook for 3-4 minutes per side (they state it's important to not overcook).
Oof, this thing is nasty. I honestly cannot understand how anyone compared the taste to a beef burger. I choked down two bites and binned it. Cooked the other one in the oven to make sure it wasn't me. It wasn't. I suppose if you put it in something that has lots of other ingredients, you could mask the "flavor". But, straight out of the pan? No.
Ironically, I love veggie burgers. I've made black bean & chickpea based burgers, and they turned out fantastic.
