My 2013 MacBook purrs heavy like a chubby cat whenever it wakes from sleep. I've opened her up a few times to inspect without seeing anything strange. I've cleaned her fans and looked for debris. Everything seems in order. Strangely, when the fan triggers on, the loud purring then stops.
It may be possessed by an internet demon.
Anywhoo, I may have to pick up an M1 series machine later this year as I need a 4k capable editing device. This girl struggles with 4k.
- Strangely, she stops the loud purring when i press down on the metal between the keyboard keys. :/********
- So it's hardware not software, check the bolts ;)********

- hmmm... interesting. thanks********
- I had the same issue with an old Mac Pro; had to disable the fan OR set different specs to calm it down. *thumbsup*ideaist

- Same. Think I might go high end PC instead of Mac this round. Wanna do 3D rendering and gamesjtb26
- I did that last purchase jtb26. Having a proper video card makes all the difference for 3d work. First PC in years, wish I did it sooner.sausages
- I'm considering building a PC rig but I like Final Cut Pro. I'm also considering going mac mini and iPad pro********
- ha... had the same battery 'swell' issue too w/my 2013 MBP... paid a nice chunk of cash to get that fixedPonyBoy
- I reset the SMC due to wonky bluetooth and the purring is gone... strange. I'm sure it will be back again.********
