For the second time in two weeks I just saw someone from my past on an arbitrary tv game show. My old art teacher and family was on Family Feud. (lol) Season 14... I just looked it up and appears they went three episodes and took $20k on at least one of the shows.

While you are sleeping, I check QBN every few minutes to see if there are any updates. But you are in a different time zone and nothing happens on here. My daily drama during pandemic.

Seems like if I want to get a full-time job now, I need to significantly reduce my salary expectations. One job I just interviewed for offered almost 50% less then what I made before lol. I understand that the market and budgets are fucked, but geez.

- I moved from freelance to full time 2 years ago; 1/2 hourly rate, 40 hours instead of who knows how much and efficiency went up 10 fold.

You get hired as a freelancer to design some web banners and ads for a company. Brief mentions only one time use nothing in your contract says otherwise.
Company says they love it and use them and want to adapt the ads to be a whole campaign.
They have inhouse designer work on adapting them.
Can you ask for more money?
- They have no right to use the art without paying for it. At all.monospaced
- This happened to me once. I ended up getting thousands to send over my original art. If they don’t pay they are full on stealing.monospaced
- If they didn't include a clause in your contract that transfers your copyrights to them just let them know how much it costs to use your work.zarkonite

- I've had a Grizzly (w/ 2 cubs) encounter 2 years ago, scariest moment of my life hands down.
I vote Tiger, "like no other"GuyFawkes - Tiger's speed is an advantage. Strenght wise, grizzly is probably stronger. If grizz get on top of tiger, it may be over for tiger, i'd say.Bennn

I don't know about you guys, but I take great satisfaction in spending two days building a keynote deck that itemizes all the misses in a client's new site redesign that a global agency 20x the size of ours created. There are few things more exciting for me than winning work for a small agency that helps that client feel like we actually really care, and that the bigger agency they spent $$$ with perhaps didn't. It's very satisfying.
- https://www.qbn.com/… ?Nairn
- are you going to be a cunt and show the client the deck? :Pmicrokorg
- Frustrating eh? Big company likely went in with a cheaper price but then start piling on the £££ once they have the client and they ask for extramicrokorg

Morning dig out is finished. Neighborhood kids (and mine) sledding down our hill. Neighbor brings his beast of a snowblower over to take care of the end of our driveway - phew! Come in to the fire still going and heading out soon to get some coffee and beer. A pretty solid Thursday so far.
- Here in LDN, mid-December, it's like September, it's so mild. So weird. Had hoped to play with kid in snow. Suspect that won't be happening. Perhaps never?Nairn
- @nairn we had zero snow last year here, year before was so much fun with my youngest, we have a great place to sledge nearby. I really hope we get some thisfadein11

We had an online quiz as part of our Christmas-themed webmeeting at work
We were supposed to use our mobile phones to open kahoot.it and answer the questions live
I said fuck it and opened it in web browser, which proved to be a big advantage in terms of response time
I skipped the first two questions because I did not understood what was happening, guessed the rest. One of the questions was "Who starred in Mamma Mia?" with 4 multiple choice answers. Never heard about it, so I chose all 4, which turned out to be the correct answer.
I won with 10% lead over runner-up, we were 44 people
Won myself a $50 gif card

Having the video village virtually is pretty nice. I did so much this morning while watching the shoot and giving feedback, all while in my pajamas. Some people miss being on set but I could really get used to this.

re: https://www.qbn.com/reply/399844…
I've only ever been recognised once in my entire life by a total random.
I was in a Richer Sounds (Hi-Fi shop) with my Father, who had come over to London for a weekend, and was wanting to buy a new sound system. We ended up in there in Holborn, a part of town that as lovely as it is, I've never had much to do with.
We're in there browsing and one of the employees walks up, scrunches his face and excitedly says something like "Hey, aren't you the guy who was selling magic mushrooms at Glastonbury?!"
My father was never much on-board with my choices during that particular period in my life, so this wasn't really the best time to have the one and only public recognition for some bullshit I ever had, or likely will have.
Fuck being famous. I can't think of anything worse. Let me be.
