A big thanks to the person who didn't tell me, or indeed anyone else in the building, that they'd arranged for electricians to replace the main fuse box this Friday morning.

It's not like me, or indeed anyone else in the building, is not entirely reliant on electricity to, y'know - 'Work'.

    • same happened to me the other day.

Currently listening to: A fiery Greek ex-warehousemate I lived with for a couple of years have a terribly painful break-up with her obviously awkward-sounding English boyfriend, outside my studio window here.

It's been going on for about 10 minutes now, and I only realised who it was when I poked my head out just now.

    • The electricity's back on, at least.Nairn
    • As an awkward-sounding Brit with a fiery mediterranean partner, this resonates quite significantly. Am quite familiar with public shout-offs.Nairn
    • So, 10 minutes on still, she's still outside somewhere, loudly pleading with this guy. Sound is muffled by distance, but by golly, it isn't going well.Nairn

Does anyone know cool, atmospherical, alien-worlds like ambient sound/ music on Spotify?

I‘m not talking about stuff like Aphex Twin ambient works. It should not contain any beats or rhythm but be a lot more natural, hypnotic, relaxing, etc.

    Thanks in advance

Made the mistake of accidentally clicking on the piss pants thread yesterday. I may have made the mistake of pointing out things that for others seems racist. On a little bike ride yesterday on our rail path I called out to pass a couple and their dog, they acknowledged me and I rode by pretty slowly, a good 8-10 feet away from them as I usually do.

30 feet out ahead of them, their dog is snacking on my ankle. I kick it off, and kind of coast to a stop to catch my breath. The wife is picking herself up out of the mud (covered, she must have domino’d straight down). The dog (a Shepard) is trotting back to them like a proud little death camp patroller.

The husband is looking at me like I threw his wife in the mud and I’m already “what the fuck?”ing this guy as it is. It’s heated, and it’s just getting worse by the second.

Trailing behind this 70lb dog is one of those ratcheting extendible leashes you’d use for a chihuahua. And now he’s going on about how I knocked his wife over with my bike and some other nonsense, while we are arguing, a group of three trail runners come out of the forest and the dog lunges at them. Fortunately the wife grabbed the leash and has the dog close in.

My ankle’s throbbing, and I pull my pant leg up to see a mess of blood. Trying to have a cooler head I asked for their info and when this dog had their shots, to which the tell me its from a shelter and to basically go fuck myself. I take some photos of them and and figure I need to get to the hospital as the bite looks kind of gnarly. The runners are doing the same and tell me they’ll call animal control and report it.

I go home, hop in the shower and wash the wound out. It’s bad but not as gruesome as I thought, couple hanging bits of skin, two inch and a half long gashes bruising and scrapes. Hospital visit, 3 hours later I’m all good.

I call animal control this morning (I don’t want anything to happen to the dog, but kids run on this path, and these shitheads need to account for something) and apparently I’m the 4th call about this dog and owners in the same 18 hour period.

TL;DR - if I die of rabies, it was nice knowing y’all.

    • Honestly man, fuck that dog. Once a dog bites a person it has to get put down. Next time it could be a kid. Dogs are amazing but we can’t let them attack peoplenb
    • Reporting to animal control is the right move. Let them process this beastnb
    • Yeah I hear you, as a dog owner who worked through fear aggression when I adopted a Boston Terrier 15 years ago, it's tricky to know when your dog is ready forben_
    • different situations. These people clearly don't give a shit, if they'd been to obedience the dog would have a muzzle/martingale and a proper leash at least.ben_
    • The hospital didn’t reco rabies shot? Was the dog an actual ‘rescue’ - which would suggest it had shits before being released to fosterGnash
    • Lol, shots. Not shitsGnash
    • It had the shits, I'm pretty sure that's why it was so irritable.ben_
    • No, so the hospital didn't reco them because of it being on leash with people, and it didn't attack it's owners, which a rabid dog would do.ben_
    • The thing is I can't be sure where the dog was from, they said "shelter" so I've sent the pic to 5 local shelters here and am waiting for an answer from all butben_

I was just walking to the bakery and passed by a house where I had once photographed a beautiful young woman. It was her biggest dream to become a model. But she was too short for the runways.

She had leg surgery done where they basically break her legs and make them longer by approx. 3". Weirdest thing, I ever heard about.

Yesterday, I saw her on instagram, walking the show of a well-known designer (wearing a mask, only broadcasted online). She succeeded.

Only writing this, because I have a bit too much time and spend it on QBN.

P.S. Recently she commented on Facebook under a picture of myself "You are cute." which left question marks in the eyes of my wife.

Half a Christmas tree. Half a fucking Christmas tree!

Thanks either vendor or courier company for completely fucking the delivery or tracking numbers up and delivering only one of the two boxes our tree was coming as.

Both are hopefully trying to rectify this but i'm not very hopeful. Even if they realise it's a fruitless investigation it'll probably be too late to get another half delivered before Christmas.

Kids are gutted. I'm just pissed off.

Haven't actually opened the box delivered. I'm hoping that it's at least the top half of the tree so if ANYTHING we may get a half-height tree lol.

I bought this on a trip in the US a few years ago. Anyone know how these are called? THere where dozens of different models and they all looked so cool, I also there was a book about all these. Anyone know of a standalone installable application (comparable to Wordpress in terms of 'out of the box' usability) that works almost like a stock media website?

I have a client that has thousands of images / videos / audio clips to get organized and online... they want the same search functionality (with filtering) that you'd find on Getty or the like. They envision uploading their media through some sort of form so they may create keywords, manage naming conventions etc... and then all they have to do is simply connect to a backend website (like an agency portal) so folks w/access may search and download their media.
