The dip at the top of the screen is annoying. I understand that the space is needed for all the lenses to watch your every move, but really, that dip makes the screen look unfinished and poor.

The 10th Anniversary iPhone Sounds Like a Samsung Clone

    http://gizmodo.com/the-10th-anni…

According to Mark Gurman at Bloomberg, a traditionally reliable source for iPhone news, Apple’s tenth anniversary iPhone is shaping up to be the company’s most ambitious phone yet. The phone will be a nearly bezel-free slab of glass and stainless steel (or possibly aluminum), the home button will be dead, and a gorgeous OLED display will be the focal point.

If you’re having a sense of deja vu, that’s because the Galaxy S8 had the exact same series of redesigns from the previous iteration when Samsung announced it last month. While Apple has been popularly viewed as the big smartphone innovator, this year it’s undoubtedly chasing Samsung.

    • 혁신은 결코 잠들지 않는다.i_monk
    • Apple beget Samsung beget LG beget HTC etc. etc.face_melter
    • It hasn't been the innovator in years. They really might as well just lease the S8, Samsung is already making the screens.formed
    • This is exactly what Samsung wants people to think, and why they throw absolutely every single piece of new technology at the wall to see what sticks.inteliboy
    • well inteliboy, one of the project I will launch later this year is based solely on the capacity of BLE 5.0. some people do use that technology to move forward.GeorgesII
    • As nice as Samsung hardware is, software lets it down badly. I powered up my S7 Edge recently and the stutter was all too apparent. iPhones glide in comparison.face_melter
    • We've reached peak phone - every one has everything. I went back to iPhone because I was tired of Android and the way this 7 works is amazingly smooth.face_melter

This is coming to Macs with the next OS as well. So much for Apple's focus on privacy. This is clearly just the tip of the iceberg, and they're leading off with something that people will support without considering how the door is wide open for Apple, the government, or whoever to scan your devices for anything and everything.

Guess I need to do a deep dive on using Linux (which I'm using for most other things already) for audio production, because I'm done with Macs if this goes through.

''Apple removes app to help you find lost AirPods from app store''

''...MacRumors reported that the app, which cost $3.99 in the App Store, was created by iOS developer Deucks to make our lives a whole lot easier.

The app had the ability to inform users of their lost AirPod's location by measuring the Bluetooth signal strength and leading them to it.''

Apple Watch sales are down 55%

The Apple Watch is soooo last year.

A new report from market intelligence firm IDC shows Apple Watch sales have dropped 55% since the product was launched in early 2015.

The watch debuted to a backlog of orders and 3.6 million units were shipped in its first three months on the market. But sales plummeted to just 1.6 million in the latest quarter, according to IDC. That's in spite of a price discount.

Just got made work from home permanently (I had heard it through the grapevine a few days back but I was sure that was code for getting fired). Bonus: they've also offered me a new top spec Mac Book Pro so I can still work in the office if/when required...

Just checked out the buyers guide and it's not a good time and, actually even difficult to get excited when the specs of the £5k model are shite compared to my hackintosh and even my current falling apart MBP is an early 2015 and has a better single-core speed.

All the talk is about the new apple silicon models in 2021, but they're now saying Q3 for a 16" MBP so that's not really an option (and not sure I want one of the early ones anyway) so I cant decide...

Are price reductions on intel models all we're going to see until the new processors arrive and I should bit the bullet and get the current top end model?

    or

Potentially hold out for a faster Intel MBP later this year/ or better graphics than an 8 gig Radeon Pro 5600M?

    or
