    Final day of jury duty?

I've made so many mistakes in my life that all seem so easily avoidable when I think about them now.

Lost opportunities, loves, experiences, money (easier said than done).

I find it strange that while people are getting fatter and bigger (as well as some more muscular) that the clothing sizes are shrinking.

My body shape and composition hasn't changed that drastically over the past 5-10 years. I'm lean fit, maybe I've gotten a bit more ripped but no extreme difference.

However I noticed when in the past I used to wear a M or L t-shirt size I now have to buy XL or even XXL because M or L are so tight.

At first I thought the brands are trying to cheap out but then it's the same price for all of the sizes usually.

I noticed this across so many brands, even alternative ones.

    • Swole Broutopian
    • I have noticed this with cycling kit. I regularly wear XL kit bought 3 years ago, and tried on new kit in XL and absolutely no chance, XXL at minimum.BuddhaHat
    • I noticed this too. I used to wear M t-shirts in a comfy way and now I have to buy L to have the same effect. I have 4 Kg more than 5 years ago but still...oey_oey

We got back late-ish on Saturday so we decided to get take out - my partner gunning for pizza from a local place, as always, I thought I'd treat myself to a burger, ordered via Uber.

I've since had NINE emails from them (ok, one was a receipt for the order) with the latest titled "It's been too long since your last order"!

It wasn't even a good burger - like, at all. Fuck you, 'SoBe'. Eeughft, dry, overcooked catfood shite. That'll learn me (it won't).

When Blender renders an image in Cycles, before the 'denoise' part - why not have AI denoise it? Surely that would yield significantly optimal results.

    • I've just been reducing the max samples to 30-40 for much faster renders. Still looks ok. Defo some AI denoiser would be good on finished rendersPhanLo

Tomorrow I will work on my art project. The one with the apple pie. Remember? You probably thought, I was only joking, but I am really doing it.

I kind of fear of not being able to succeed in generating the images which I can imagine, simply not being good enough and not having the skills. But if I don't try it, I will never find out.

Weather forecast is excellent. Only down-sides: My model has a swollen leg due to a stitch from a bee (looks a bit nasty as it is quite large) and the location put a tent on a lawn where I wanted to shoot.

I'm done burning my bbq. I'm roasting a chicken using some metal sheets and refractory bricks to cover the holes.

Tomorrow I've to go to a blacksmith friend to hack it, LOL

@SimonFFM - I was thinking of you the other day (steady!) - I was trying to teach my daughter to cycle in the park and there was a 'mid-thirty something' tall guy learning to skateboard with his generously indulgent partner somehow entirely restraining what I would've assumed would be an overwhelming desire to drop to the floor laughing.

He looked like an '80s middle class kid with their first skateboard - one of those weird-shaped ones that I don't think real skaters ever used, and wearing a full battle armour of kneepads, shinpads, elbowpads and helmet, none of which matched his otherwise very polite attire.

I passed at one point and overheard his partner offering to gently push him along a bit as he was struggling to achieve anything otherwise. It was very sweet. If anything, I'm kind of in awe about how little he gave a fuck.

Furloughed from my job during the pandemic. Worried about what could happen, I watched and read doom and gloom while massively diving into the bottle.

At the end, I was drinking 1.75L of vodka every 2 days.

June 1, 2020 I quit cold turkey. 3 years later, my liver gave me a high five when I woke up this morning. lol

Our house is infested with ants again but this time it's different.
In the past they would form paths to food areas to gather stuff.

now they hang around in groups of 5 or 6.

They bring their heads together like they are having a meeting and form a circle, in places that they have not much chance for food. Like couches or empty shelves of the kitchen.

What are they talking about? or planning?

2-3 weeks ago the house was full of flying ones. Queens I suppose? So many, but I couldn't find where they came from.

We don't poison them and we tried all the natural methods. Something esoteric going on.

“The surest way to work up a crusade in favor of some good cause is to promise people they will have a chance of maltreating someone. To be able to destroy with good conscience, to be able to behave badly and call your bad behavior 'righteous indignation' — this is the height of psychological luxury, the most delicious of moral treats.”

When you read the entire quote, you see it applies much more to the religious right’s attack on homosexuality in the name of “god”, not the defense of those attacks.

Yes Gnash, you are an idiot for attempting to use a quote out of context.

“Crusade” and “righteous” should have been contextual clues, plus the general fact that agnostic Aldous was against the church.

Alas, you intentionally chose bigot instead of ally.
