I find it strange that while people are getting fatter and bigger (as well as some more muscular) that the clothing sizes are shrinking.
My body shape and composition hasn't changed that drastically over the past 5-10 years. I'm lean fit, maybe I've gotten a bit more ripped but no extreme difference.
However I noticed when in the past I used to wear a M or L t-shirt size I now have to buy XL or even XXL because M or L are so tight.
At first I thought the brands are trying to cheap out but then it's the same price for all of the sizes usually.
I noticed this across so many brands, even alternative ones.
- Swole Broutopian
- I have noticed this with cycling kit. I regularly wear XL kit bought 3 years ago, and tried on new kit in XL and absolutely no chance, XXL at minimum.BuddhaHat
- I noticed this too. I used to wear M t-shirts in a comfy way and now I have to buy L to have the same effect. I have 4 Kg more than 5 years ago but still...oey_oey
- Chinese XL size ¯\_(ツ)_/¯OBBTKN
- I have 2 shirts from same brand. one M Chest 104-112cm. One L chest104-112cm.
size labels are inaccurate. always check measurement.pango - I'm just getting swole ;)necromation
- same.
also same as pangosofas - Isn't it the opposite? Go to a vintage shore, a 70's shirt is sized L but comparable to a size S today. To make fat people feel better about themselves.shapesalad
- Perhaps now there's a change in sizing to encourage you lard asses to lose some weight.shapesalad
- It’s WALL-E IRL bro. Round, jelly-like folks with screens/technology making all of their decisions.ideaist
- I too have shifted from a M - L. Mostly for arm / torso length.ideaist
- Huh, I've gone from all L to half L, half M now. Much more ripped than I've been in decades (a tad thinner, though)formed
- Do black people fit in the same sizes?palimpsest
- OK, I read that wrong. It said "while people" not "white people". :spastic:palimpsest
- It's because they're running out of fabric. #wakeupyuekit
- Fabric is a social construct.palimpsest
- same price, less fabric, more profit.
or asian standards are winning and nobody cares to relabel that shit in the west.uan - Has anyone considered that everything in the whole world except NBQ00 is in reality getting smaller?shapesalad
- He’s cultivating mass!scarabin
