Have you worn a face mask anywhere lately?
I don't and no place around me requires them anymore, all of a sudden, but 40% of people around still wear them.

Not quite signs you're getting old...
Went to a local-ish sandwich place yesterday after work and in the nicely-underlit gloom I realised I really, really needed to start carrying cheapo reading glasses around with me, as I could barely read much of the menu.
Turns out some of the titles really were smudged, and it's mostly otherwise a scrawl. From their site. I can barely read this zoomed in...

Lexapro, where have you been all my anxiety-riddled, stressed-out adult life?
I’m in my third week and feeling amazing. Kinder. More patient. More tolerant of my kids. More playful with them. More actively engaged. Waking up without my mind racing. Waking up with energy and enthusiasm. Joyful. Optimistic. Creative. And on and on.
Apparently it doesn’t really take hold of you until after a month or two, and if that’s true, I’m gonna feel like I am an entirely new person when that phase hits.
- Super happy for you that's great :) I tried it and it just numbed me, I couldn't feel anything.BuddhaHat

What time you wake up on average?
I'm aiming for 6am.
Have been going to bed at 10pm ~ 10.30pm
So far it's been great.
Rather than having my working day time-off in the evening — when it's dark and you're tired.
Now my time off is during a lovely quiet sunrise— while my brain is sharp.

Between the pandemic and now war in Ukraine, the cost of living in Germany is getting to be untenable.
7.3% inflation, and that's driving everything up; food (5€ for a 1-litre bottle of canola oil — *if* you can even find some in the shops — when before it was 80 cents, for example), heating, fuel. It's only a matter of time before everything goes up astranomically. To say nothing of already shocking rents in Munich (920€ per month for my 28 m2 one-room flat, and that's considered cheap on this market).
And, of course, salaries aren't going up.
I'm really having difficulty seeing how — or even if — this situation would improve, short-, medium-, or long-term.
I'm seriously thinking of trying to find work and relocate to somewhere where COL and inflation aren't so elevated. France, Spain, Portugal, Greece.
At least I'd also have the benefit of seaside life, even if I'm rat poor.

As of today, I live in Frankfurt (Germany) for 25 years. The city is not as great as it used to be and I would like to move.
My problem is that I don't know where to. I have not found a nice place on earth yet where my type of work would be possible and I could afford living.
And I also don't know where to move within Germany.

- Yes, Berlin and Munich aren't on my list. I'd like to find a smaller town, such as Hilversum (NL) but in Germany. Haven't found anything ok yet.SimonFFM

There's this idiot at my apt. complex that can't help but point out how folks break rules while doing it themselves. The dipshit has a 'Welcome' mat that takes up half the hallway—often tripping people. It's 'illegal' to have this sort of mat according to the property owner's guidelines (NO doormats in interior hallways, asshole!!). Anyway... today as we returned from our walk (my pup had a very hardy yet not-so-solid turd on said walk) she spotted the idiot's doormat and b-lined her way to it. From edge to edge she dragged her ass leaving the 'O' to appear a bit bolder than normal... good dog. <3
I'm going back to clean it up of course (no I'm not)... but ffs... GOOD DOG. <3
