Someone I care about and value their opinion suggested I get rid of Facebook.. It's not something I felt I needed to do because of events and messaging, keeping up with my friends in Mexico, etc. But this time, I'm concidering it. Going on there randomly yesterday only to see GOT spoilers pissed me off and got me thinking about life without it (can't believe I'm saying this) lol. I realized I click on the app so mindlessly and automatically only to be disappointed time and time again. I do curate to a degree what I see but I'm tired of stupid shit popping up constantly that I don't want to see. I guess what I'm asking or trying to understand, is how good life is without it for you. Does it make a difference?

I just had someone tell me something that sounds ridiculous concerning fade effects on a website, that fade in text or other elements as you scroll.
They said that this hurts SEO because the content is not immediately visible. But it's still in the site, it's still in the code, it's still in the page, with an effect added to it to reveal it.
Is there any truth to this?

I'm having to explain how stencils work, and how certain letters need to have their counters 'bridged' so that they don't fall out once cut. I dunno, perhaps I've been doing this awhile, but this is a fairly obvious concept, and one I'm surprised I have to make to people in certain well-educated professions.
To highlight examples, I wrote "(eg. letters such as A, O or P) and the response I've just got was "Why another letter as R, B and D isn’t included? "

Just had one of the weirder experiences that I can remember...
Walked home from work after having had a beer with work mates. On my way I pass by a bar with big large windows where I notice some pretty woman sitting by herself. She looks at me and starts smiling and flirting with me. I think "hmm this is weird" but I smile back. Just because usually women are not as direct as that. She was blatantly smiling & flirting at me.
Then she waves at me to come in. I'm like wtf ok why not and go inside the bar to join her.
She was really elegant, had a lovely dress and heels on, really pretty woman. Turns out she only speaks English and she tells me she's a tourist from Moscow.
I ordered us drinks. Then she tells me she's a lawyer and my guess was she was 30 or in her early 30's.
We talk some more and she tells me she's trying to find a husband and have a family. And that she can't find good men in Moscow. And the more she talks about it I get more weirded out. She seemed very desperate. She really is trying to find somebody during her holiday trip that agrees to have a relationship with her with marriage and a baby.
I told her that it doesn't work like that around here and that maybe she should try some dating sites or some mail-bride site where foreign men look for a trophy wife. And I told her if she wanted to just have fun/ sex she could come home to my place. She said she's not looking for just sex and that she can't have sex with somebody she just met.
Then I left. She came outside with me and asked me to take some photos of her. And I'll never see her again.
Well that's just a little story of what happened today.
