Someone I care about and value their opinion suggested I get rid of Facebook.. It's not something I felt I needed to do because of events and messaging, keeping up with my friends in Mexico, etc. But this time, I'm concidering it. Going on there randomly yesterday only to see GOT spoilers pissed me off and got me thinking about life without it (can't believe I'm saying this) lol. I realized I click on the app so mindlessly and automatically only to be disappointed time and time again. I do curate to a degree what I see but I'm tired of stupid shit popping up constantly that I don't want to see. I guess what I'm asking or trying to understand, is how good life is without it for you. Does it make a difference?

    • I never use it except for groups. Does anyone still add friends and post photos there?freedom
    • That said, I'll just take some time away, deactivate as an experiment... hmmsea_sea
    • People still post pics. I stopped a while ago. It's mostly a hit repost space now.sea_sea
    • I left FB years ago and felt massively better for it. I now have a new pseudonymous account for checking a couple of work-related groups, but nothing more.Nairn
    • Okay, I'm guessing I need an active account in order to use messenger right? Hmm I use that alot dammitsea_sea
    • don't base your decisions off what others tell you or suggestpockets
    • Never, but I do value certain opinions. I guess it depends on who it's coming from. It's just a thought, in the end I do what I want, always.sea_sea
    • I've kept my profile to spy on other people. It's like a phone book, only with picturesdrgs

    • I cant even remember what I did on there.DRIFTMONKEY
    • Thinking about removing the app from my phone and going from there.sea_sea

    • I'm opening FB maybe 2 to 5 min a day now. Just to see. I dont miss anything. But I keep the link with family and other stuff. Dont need to delete your account.Bennn
    • FB has always been a place to get info and news about a bunch of topics, now I use Twitter. I prefer the timeline of Twitter.Bennn
    • Yeah not deleting. If anything I was going to inactivate. I'll just be more conscious about it for a while see how that goes.sea_sea
    • I dropped it over a year ago now, and don't miss a thing. I definitely had some Facebook withdraw effects at first, I'll admit.section_014
