Reading the notes about how people are surviving is some harsh light of day.

Thanks everyone for sharing. Americans would do much better together if we were more honest and open with each other about our financial stresses.

So-called 'lockdown light' in Germany is being extended to at least the end of January (likely longer), with the only allowance made for Christmas/NY, where groups of max 10 people can gather in a home.

Johns Hopkins Study Saying COVID-19 Has ‘Relatively No Effect on Deaths’ in U.S. Deleted After Publication
    https://gellerreport.com/2020/11…
    https://web.archive.org/web/2020…
"This trend is completely contrary to the pattern observed in all previous years. Interestingly, as depicted in the table below, the total decrease in deaths by other causes almost exactly equals the increase in deaths by COVID-19. This suggests, according to Briand, that the COVID-19 death toll is misleading. Briand believes that deaths due to heart diseases, respiratory diseases, influenza and pneumonia may instead be recategorized as being due to COVID-19."

    Similar to this Norwegian study:
    https://www.qbn.com/reply/399450…
"All-cause mortality remained unaltered in Norway. In Sweden, the observed increase in all-cause mortality during Covid-19 was partly due to a lower than expected mortality preceding the epidemic and the observed excess mortality, was followed by a lower than expected mortality after the first Covid-19 wave."
At present (second wave) all-cause mortality (covid, heart diseases etc, everything combined) is indistinguishable from previous years

If this is true, I'm going to be furious

    Luke 2: 8-14
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this [shall be] a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

That’s what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.

The thing about these coronavirus conspiracy theories is, I feel like if it was true I would probably support it.

The people running the world made a virus that doesn't actually kill anyone as an excuse to force you to stay inside watching TV for a year while they transform the economy to deal with climate change?

Read some of the stuff being presented as terrible in an article like this...people will continue to work remotely forever, half of all work will be automated, we will get a basic income...also the world is run by socialists.

    https://www.zerohedge.com/geopol…

But of course that's not what's happening, in reality millions of people will die before this is over and there's no guarantee any significant reforms will ever come to pass.

"daily wear of eyeglasses is associated with less susceptibility to COVID-19 infection"

Basically, wearing glasses is the same as wearing a face mask (eye and nose/throat are connected by the nasolacrimal apparatus), and if wearing glasses works against the covids then a face mask should too

Unless four-eyed people simply interact less with other people (than people without glasses, for whatever reasons)
