Today I had the evaluation of my test time (6 months) on the job.
I was informed they would let me go...This came as a surprise and very unexpectedly, specially because I kept on asking for feedback and it was never negative.
The main reason being that my partner is expecting our second child and everything what it my involved that can affect the company.
There's more to it, minor stuff that aren't even true but by law they don't even really need a reason for not keeping me.
Thing is I really enjoy the work, would love to stay in the company and wanted to ask for an increase of working hours.
I have bills to pay and this came with a month notice...

Took a special tour of a secret nuclear fall-out shelter earlier today. I am friends with one of the guys fixing it up for folks to come and visit it sometime in the future, so had the chance to take some pics to show you what's under Dundee that most folks don't know about.
This is what the building looked like before being demolished in the early 90's. The Royal Observer Corps were in charge of keeping an eye on the nuclear threat to Scotland and the UK. All that's left above ground is this doorway on a housing estate, the labyrinth underground has dozens of rooms and 2 levels.

I think I’m going to stop tipping food delivery guys.
Reasons:
- they drive wildly dangerously and rudely (in my neighborhood, it’s out of control.) Fuckers are driving gas-powered vespas down narrow sidewalks where kids are walking, it’s insane. Totally ignoring traffic laws and also ignoring common courtesy like don’t drive on the fucking sidewalk. Sheesh.
- it’s too easy of a job to deserve a tip. I see these guys getting stoned at work all the time lol. They don’t even have to talk, it’s just driving around, pick up and hand off
- in my limited experience they’re super rude, they don’t give a fuck about anyone around them.
- the delivery apps already gouge the restaurants and charge me an extra fee for delivery on top
- the delivery apps automate payment amounts and if we all tip, we’re only subsidizing these tech companies. (In other words, the tech companies will eventually pay more to the drivers if you don’t tip, or they’ll go out of business.)
- there are plenty of needy people in my neighborhood and city. I’m going to donate my tips instead
