A friend of mine took his kids to visit the grandparents who live on their old family farm. It was their one trip this year. A few other family members drove as well. Every one of them tested before they left, and the grandparents stocked up the house and tested negative, too. They stopped only for gas and bathroom breaks along the way. They stayed four days.
They all got covid.
Unless someone in the family lied, the only explanation is that they probably got it at a gas station on the way. Or someone caught it at the facility they tested at.
But yeah scientists are telling us that the Omicron variant is VERY contagious. Story checks out.

Is anyone out there fascinated by Corey Feldman? A friend and I have been going down a big Feldman rabbit hole with YouTube videos and articles, mostly concerning his musical output.
I wasn't aware until recently how little self-awareness that guy has. It feels like he's doing a bit, but I think he's squarely stuck in the the late 80's and adheres to whatever his definition of "cool" was as a 16 year old. I had a really weird dream about the Glastonbury Festival last night. I was sitting in a cafe on site and Michael Eavis & his daughter walked past and I was shouting "Michael, Michael" like I knew him, but realised I probably sounded more like Alan Partridge shouting "Dan!" I wanted to warn him there were tornadoes coming to the site - I had seen dozens of them in the distance from the Tor on the hill hurtling towards the festival site. He ignored me though and wandered off, so still not sure if this was a future vision or I'd just had too much cheese on my pasta before I went to bed.

So every single time I open twitter (4/5 times a day) I get a notifications red dot. Click on it. And it's always some random un remarkable tweet from someone I follow or even don't.
I've turned of every imaginable type of notification option but still it goes on.
Is it just me? Am I missing something? Is this just how Twitter works for everyone to get you to engage more?
