    Looking forward to this...
    https://movieweb.com/dune-remake…

    • He did a fantastic job on Bladerunner 2049. Good it got into his hands and not some of these dumb Marvel/ Superhero movie directors.NBQ00
    • :sigh: hans zimmer doing the soundtrack. so we know what that'll sound like then...hans_glib
    • You should like Hans, hans. He's good.NBQ00
    • the first time, i agree. after lord knows how many films he's scored, not so much.hans_glib
    • Nothing wrong with Hans Zimmer. Nobody could argue all his work is similar though.monospaced
    • Feels like Villeneuve can do no wrong, excited for this.ben_
    • It's a tough translation, as the book covers so many philosophical IDEAS. Excited to see how they handle it compared to all of the other shots at it.toemaas
    • I hope that I'm not let down with the remake.utopian
    • at least he's splitting it up into two filmsmonospaced
    • sandworm is already too cgihotroddy
    • The only thing he cannot do, unless he really wants to push the limits is include "Sandstorm" by Darude when the first sandworm is revealed.

      Michael Bay style!

    • / Jerry Bruckheimer style!ideaist
    • But Darude - Sandstorm with a full opera orchestra will do!!!grafician
    • sounded great... but when I got to the fourth cast member I hit the brakes knowing it will be shit..."Oscar Isaac, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, and Jason Momoa"PonyBoy
    • ^Pony: Jason is a very good actor man, directed by Villeneuve he'll do well, remember Bautista in Blade Runner 2049!!grafician
    • I remember him as a dopey man-beast in just about every roll. If he's given too many words he tends to act / sound like he's still in high school drama class.PonyBoy
    • I mean... it's not like I'm not going to watch the film :P ...I'm just reducing my expectations some.PonyBoy
    • ^you're overreacting, think the cast is spot on and these films will be a great start to the new cinematic decadegrafician

Today I finished reading „The Aquarium“. A book that is so wild that I now feel drunk with impressions. Like when I left the movie thestre as a kid and became Crocodile Dundee.

The book is from 1999, I bought it to impress women with my bookshelf. Never actually read it. Now my wife who is a writer suggested me to read it. And it blew my mind.

It’s full of emotions and sex. But nothing like you would expect it.

I hope I am posting in the right thread. I am so confused right now.

    • +1, this is perfect blog fodder

Also, I'd +1 "I bought it to impress women with my bookshelf" if I could

Have any of you done a nutritional DNA test with any of these services like 23AndMe, Genopalate, Orig3n, etc?

    • I'm less interested in the ancestry portion and more interested in the accuracy of the companies building nutritional profiles.mg33
    • Seems like the Wild West for these companies and reviews are hit or miss.mg33

Why is it considered the default to pour a huge amount of sugar into your coffee in so many cultures? Unhealthy and it doesn't really go together that well, just my opinion.

Coffee is an acquired taste, countries that don't have a big coffee culture and therefore low quality coffee compensate with sugar.

Im going to spend the next 4 days and xmas alone.
There was the option to join the family and cousins, aunties..etc..
But since I dont fancy the idea of joining a big group of people, I will be by myself, and it actually feels fine.

I bought some shiitakes, nice vegetables and other ingredients and will cook a nice curry on the 24th. I also bought a nice argentinian malbec wine and will play Sekiro the entire xmas.

Feels like a good plan. Killing evil samurais and getting drunk.

    • Not bad, mate... Prob. this way you'll get the best xmas ever. Enjoy!OBBTKN

    Anybody else have sleep disorders?

I'm a full-blown parasomniac. I sleep walk, sleep talk, sleep run, sleep jump, sleep fall, etc.

I roam around and break things. I run into walls. I've woken up and realized I've been trying to open the front door.

I was once certain that I was picking a human-sized carrot out of the ground, Bugs Bunny style. Woke up to my girlfriend slapping me awake because I had her in a cuddly headlock, trying to pull her out of bed with me.

We have a long-standing agreement that if I start some sleep bullshit, it's slapping time. There have been times where I have been slapped while I was completely awake and just getting up for a glass of water. That might be funnier than the carrot episode.

She's put up with this nonsense for almost 6 years, so she must be a keeper. It usually only flares up when I'm stressed, and 'tis the season.
