Paris Photo exhibition was great. Had a shoot (quickie, just 2hrs) with the tattoo girl from my book this morning. She has a high force of attraction to men. It’s not as common as you would think. Many models are just like a great wrapping. Anyways, I get a bit too philosophical here for being sober. Sorry, train ride is boring.

The vegan doner was ok.
It as ok in that it was actually fucking delicious - very well made and had a good selection of considered and homemade sauce, pickle and vegetables - and was in a way, one of the best kebabs i think I've ever had (venue won 'best UK Kebab 2019'. Yes, such a thing exists) I say this as someone who lives in Little Turkey in LDN.
But it was merely 'ok' in that after a few bites of the vegan meat replacement, my subconscious was going "yeah but it's not meat, is it - why didn't you get one with fucking chicken, you fool?".
So I think I'm going back there later to try one with flesh.

I was thinking about my career this weekend, trying to figure out what to do with it, cos I'm really not happy at my current agency (the boss is a full-on narcissist), and thinking about the path of many freelancers I've either booked or know of, from sifting through LinkedIn and Xing.
Almost all of these people climbed the ladder: junior art director or junior copywriter up to senior, then to CD, ECD, Global ECD, Managing CD, etc. All people with 15+ years under their belt.
And now, they are back at the beginning: they're doing concepts/copywriting or art direction for campaigns, the stuff they did in the first part of their career.
It's funny, because this is also what I want go back to. The capacity planning, the administration, the endless meetings, the missing out on shoots, the constant chasing people to respect deadlines ... I really hate all this. I just want to go back to doing what I thought was fun in the first instance: campaign ideas, art direction, going to shoots.
Seems like a pattern for most experienced creatives after a certain point.

Before I press send... is there anything wrong with CC'ing a company's CEO on an email reply for unsolicited marketing crap and completely failed crap, at that?
The CEO puts his email on the website with the message "If you have a comment or suggestion, send a confidential email directly to our CEO."
I got a message in August, didn't reply. I got a follow-up in September, didn't reply. Now, I get the following from them today:
"Yes, absolutely! If you can send over the files, we can get it sent off to our production team to make a quote for you. Do you mind telling me what kind of print collateral, so that I can advise the production team? Also, please let me know if you have any questions – I would be happy to answer them for you. Looking forward to assisting!"
I never wrote them about anything. Never had a conversation with them. It was all unsolicited to begin with.
