Been sick since beginning of the week. Yesterday, I was coherent enough to work from home after being fucked up on antibiotics and painkillers.
I don't usually have a drink during the weekday, but a friend of mine gave me a bottle of Suze and L'Orgeat recently so i spun up a few cocktails and I was off to work and holy shit, I was so productive that I ended up finishing a few projects and decided to stay up 'til 4am to work on next week's assignments.
I am now a week and a half ahead of where I should be with my tasks. Why do I even need to go in to work? I need a remote job.
And I did it all in me undies!
- booze will negate the effect of the antibiotics, i thinkGnash
- I am always more productive when I work from home.Maaku

Question for the camera nerds. Is it possible to have those super slo mo cameras used for general broadcasting of fast action sports?
I ask because in Australian football, we use TV replays to see if someone has touched a ball before it goes through the goals but the footage just isn't clear enough.
Is there a camera that can be used in general play that can also be used for super high res super slomo as well?
A guy I know seems to think a camera that does that needs to be fixed to focus on a specific spot.

Listening to Rogan last week. Jamie seemed to have some free software for creating deep fake shit easily. Anyone know what it was?

Some backstory to the pic I posted earlier, it's weird as I had been in Nepal for a month or so, this being 1987, I had got there via travelling with my Aussie girlfriend who I had met in Amsterdam earlier in the year. We decided to travel Asia together but it was pretty stressful (for her) as she kept getting tummy bugs (and nearly had her hand chopped off in a ceiling fan in Bangkok but that's another tale) We spent way too much time getting wasted in Kathmandu - hash was so cheap and easily available, when we arrived at the hotel the first thing our landlady did was offer us a brick of it at a ridiculously cheap price. So we're getting bombed and hanging out with good friends who we had met on our trails - one pair of guys, an American and an Austrian were travelling together and we spent quite a bit of time talking about our different countries and passing the blunts. However one afternoon whilst wandering the streets looking at temples we came across the Austrian guy lying naked in the street stone dead!
We kinda freaked out, it turned out that the American chap saw his mate leap to his death from their 3rd floor hotel window and when we went to comfort him at the hotel the police hooked onto us too as we were the only other folks who had known him. They told us we couldn't leave Nepal until it was all sorted out so we had a bit of an epiphany, we flushed all our dope down the loo and headed out to the nearest hill-station away from the city which had become sad and tainted for us.
The pic was me standing next to a large, wild weed which we had vowed not to smoke as we had decided enough was enough and even though it was not possible to confirm that our friend had killed himself because he'd had a reaction to the drugs on offer, we just thought it best for us to stay clean, go trekking and try to put the bad memories behind us.
I kept a diary of my debauched Asian adventures, Thailand was just ridiculous haha, but the Nepal leg was a low point, even though I was smiling and had a stupid itchy had on. I hope that gives the pic some context.

I keep losing my steel ruler - this time it's been gone for about two weeks. I have no idea how - it's not like my workshop here is massive.
I need to have it to hand pretty much constantly, so this loss I decided to get shit together and make myself some rulers. They've been working a treat. I added in a couple of features that are uniquely handy to me, all good.
Until just now.
I was measuring an antique box so I could etch over the top of it, but nothing was quite working right - there was a constant offset of about 10mm. I thought I was going nuts - this should be child's play!
I revert to absolute basics, go and get a measuring tape and lo! the measurement I had was wrong. What the fuck?!
Turns out dickhead here missed out 17cm on his ruler, so everything beyond 16cm measured wrong.
Thankfully this is the first time I'e encountered this problem over the past couple of weeks.
Or is it? best not think...
- I read this.robthelad
- I'm sorry. There was little to no need.Nairn
- gat a big magnet, stand in the centre of your workshop, hold the magnet out and slowly point in all directions until the ruler flys towards the magnet...shapesalad
- ..and lodges in your left eye socket.
The last part is optional.shapesalad - I actually have a very large neodymium magnet, from a wind turbine apparently, which is great for sweeping the floor for tools and pins and such :)Nairn

Can anyone recommend a good refillable mechanical pencil? Tired of cheap / quick to break lead / too skinny for the hand disposables... Plus most of the lead in disposables is a bit too hard for my taste. I'd love to find a refillable that accepted various density (in the low 'B' range... not too soft... maybe a nice 2b).
- https://www.gearhung… Anyone in the list, I would choose the Pentel graph gear or the Rotring...OBBTKN
- For the leads, now I'm using Tombow 2B as everyday writing tool, nice and relatively cheapOBBTKN
- The Uniball Kuru Toga is only good for writing, imo. Lead spins so it always stays sorta sharp, which has its place. Not good for sketching, again imo.Nairn
- I really need to buy that Rotring sometime. It's been on my list for years now, thanks to an old, now-left QBNer.Nairn
- I only use 0.9mm 2B, fat and soft as fuck.Nairn
- rOtring or any architect's leadholderimbecile
- lots of good reviews... think I shall spring for a rotring... thx, allPonyBoy

Just tripped and fell on my face from getting up so fast trying to save a bird from my cat. - _-
In my garden, out of nowhere 2 birds fell from the sky my cat pounced and got one. I managed to get up off my face, lol and grab my cat, freed the bird and it took off. My cats not happy. Not today, not on my watch. Great, that's the kind of adrenaline jolt I needed today. pain is now setting in. :/ little fkr.- Heart's still pounding, shaky, wtf.sea_sea
- damn, C's... you're a hero and a villain all at the same time. The irony is you freed something that could fly away while simutaniously demonstrating...PonyBoy
- ... humans will never fly.PonyBoy
- Sorry about your face. <3

Anybody know of a cool tool to create interactive presentations and that can be exported as html and maybe for iOS as an app?
Ideally I'd love to do it in something like Adobe XD or Sketch and import animations and then design buttons that can be clicked on to activate other animations and scenes. But both of these programs can't export HTML or apps.
How would you do something like that as a non-coder?
I need an easy to use tool :) any ideas?
- I'm sure I did something like this in KeynoteIanbolton
- Adobe Animate
Adobe Captivate (possibly)fadein11 - But can Keynote or Adobe Animate export as Html or iOS app at all? I don't think so (?)NBQ00
- Adobe Animate can do both yepfadein11
- Adobe Animate is HTML5/CSS based. It also has an export to ios option but not sure how good that is.fadein11
- with XD, you can preview your prototype via the mobile XD app after plugging into your desktop. closest there is to replicating an app.Bluejam
- Sketch or XD into InVision? I’ve exported prototypes as HTML from invision.thumb_screws
- I've presented XD prototypes on the XD app by uploading the design to adobe cloud. you don't need to be connectedGnash
- there is also Adobe Spark. dead simple. https://spark.adobe.…Gnash
- sounds like Spark covers all your needsGnash
- Doesn't keynote do all that...robotron3k
- Prezi if you are looking for presentation app. Otherwise GSAP + HTML + CSS and code it yourselfdpi
