Daily journal writing is the ultimate cheatcode to personal insights and self development.
Fuck whatever Instagram-spirituality associations it gives you. It really works (okay, for me at least).
Just 10 minutes of stream of consciousness writing about whatever I ate for breakfast and my plans for today, ssemingly out of nothing thoughts about intimate personal issues and whatnot, surface.
Give it a try. It's like free therapy.
Remember, NO ONE has to (and optimally should) read it but you.
- Instructions unclear.
Share yours, as an example.palimpsest - Share my journal? Are you high?jagara
- Start writing about whatever you want, see where it goes. Those are the instructions ;)jagara
- < i tried this and determined NOT to write about breakfast etc. i accidentally unleashed my subconscious which was so dark twisted and worrying...hans_glib
- ...that i destroyed the journal and vowed never to do that again. the monstr was put back in it's box thank godhans_glib
- And that monster is now subconsciously controlling all your actions XDjagara
- haha - but it always has/had. but i never knew just how grim it was until i started the journal. my dad always said i had worms in my head - if only he knew...hans_glib
- Make friends with your monster. That's the whole point, dude! :Djagara
- The monster is part of you, is you!
</wisdom>jagara - I like the idea, I fill tons of notebooks with, sketches, doodles and writings, during my work-days... A journal? Why not, more time far from screens :)OBBTKN
- I do the same thing. BTW in psychology it is used in CBT therapy. It does help.renderedred
- it's taught in business schools. it's a well known tool. keep doing it, for the rest of your life. or meditate daily. works wonders also.uan
- No offense, but it sounds like some fucking commie gobbledygook.palimpsest
- @palimpsest whatever your political leanings: writing your your thoughts daily can give you a personal outlet, and give you personal insights :)jagara
- I just remembered you're a commie, never mind :Djagara
- lol, indeed!
It's a Norm Macdonald reference.
But it speaks well of your approach. You handled it in the best way possible. <3palimpsest

On a call for a "board" related to a "Drug Advocacy Council" I do work with/for...
... It's very real/raw talk related to "unhoused", addiction, etc. etc. etc. AND it's a group of folks trying their best to help people with real mental / physical health issues that can't or simply WON'T help themselves.
As a recovering addict myself, I have perspective and empathy towards this group and feel a real desire/need to do what I can.
In the current state of the world, funding for this realm becomes very difficult; it's heavily reliant on government funding, donations, etc. etc. etc. which seem less and less.
Any experience in this world with folks?
- 80+ overdoses reported in Vancouver yesterday; other side of the country as Ontario, BUT things seem to be going the opposite direction this group intends...ideaist
- No direct experience myself, but these trends are so concerning, and I’ve been close to people who have thankfully been supported by families to Recovery.monospaced
- Sponsorship strategy? Yes, I have raised and managed six-figure sponsorship deals. Coincidentally, the company that certified me was in Toronto.canoe

Pluribus
3 episodes in, really digging it.
The hive mentality is a cool, I see it as an allegory to what we currently have in the digital connected world, not psychic but I'm always my phone away from knowing how to change a water pump or what that weird bug on the sidewalk is, or to talk and see my mom half a world away. I might not be able to fly a plane or perform open heart surgery but I can build a shed or make a fire in the woods from scratch all because I have the shared knowledge and experience of billions of other humans at the tip of my fingers.I didn't really appreciate all of it until this show. It's pretty mind-blowing what we've achieved.
- Absolutely, ive thought about disaster/apocalypse scenarios and how useless i would actually be without a community around me.mantrakid
- I wouldnt even know how to grow wheat let alone make flour let alone make bread.mantrakid

- That's not entirely awful.
Nice work.
You cunt.Nairn - the simplicity of generating it per prompt is pretty awful though. basicly every 12 year old can pull this off..neverscared
- i tried to map an object on a lorentz attractor system as a background.... flippin a.i has no clue what to do.neverscared

grok is not bad at stuff like that, fed it your image and your prompt.uan - in nano banana it always drew me a butterfly or one sort of trajcectory line of the attractorneverscared

- did you specify that 'horror' vibe? only asking cos it's similar to slop i (well, midjourney) did a while ago -hans_glib
- ...without asking it churned out gruesome pics with similar feel, tho i did ask for pigs' heads on chains so i guess there is that.hans_glib
- no horror vibe... gothic cathedral, and red ambient light sets the tone i think.neverscared
- in the grok thing I used the 1 in grok-com-imagine, uploaded your image and prompted:uan
- can you make an animated object on a lorentz attractor system in the background, like semitransparent lines giving it a cyber aesthetics touchuan
- maybe just my perception...but I think it's more tuned to default to this cyberpunk results. bet you can do the same in the others, just with more direction.uan

I just gotz me a job at a big ad agency in NYC, worked it out perfectly so I can still disappear for a few months do do my fishing thing every year/season. Still working remote though, but now I have more of a reason to go up there and meet some of you guys in NYC finally. This AI slop thing has been nothing but GREAT for me.

- in second part of clip I stabilized the footage to show the movement of the objectsfuturefood
- I saw you post this on imgur y'day :)
Really odd. You've no way of telling how high up/far off they were?Nairn - some kind of meteorites (we had Leonids meteor shower recently) and the wobbling caused by different altitudes. or some starlink clusters?uan
- check if you can find them on https://satellitemap… with timestamp and location :-)uan
- It's weird, you didn't get any plane over los angeles in that clip. how did the planes look in your night vision footage?uan
- @Nairn - Hard to get exact altitude, but if within the atmosphere, my best guess would be roughly 40-50k ft....futurefood
- ...This is based on planes in the same area within the flight tracker app cruising at 40,000 ftfuturefood
- @uan - In infrared, planes look like bright objects with their blinking lights. You can still observe their airstream when flying at higher altitudesfuturefood
- Thanks for satellite link. Going to check it out. This was taken Nov 24, around 10pm.futurefood
- I usually have exact time, but something was wrong with my sd card as it displays Jan 1st 4am like I never set the time XDfuturefood
- "I want to believe", but I'm also massively-skeptic, and I can't at all rationalise that curve and the follow-through of the third's movement.Nairn
- Clearly the TR-3B triangle doing the roundsgrafician
- I'm not aware of any meteors that all of sudden speed up and maneuver around each other.utopian

- must be aliens throwing 3 frisbees into earth's atmosphere then.uan
- Why not 3 jets maneuvering on postcombustion?OBBTKN
- and because aliens are so awesome, the 3 frisbees flew and stayed on the same plane.uan
- @OBBTKN when was captain obvious fun?sted
- Cool, nice capture!slappy
- How would you know if these were flying 1,000 or 40,000 ft up? Seems hard to estimate when it’s just dots.monospaced
- ^As I mentioned earlier, it's my best estimated guess. Using flight tracker data and 20+ years as a photographer, you learn a bit about distance.futurefood
- ...I'm shooting some video so I can eventually make a post showing how I can get a strong estimate of object distancefuturefood

Helping a friend with some branding work for a new venture, and this is part of a pitch to extend beyond the core system.
I got to this point via a back-and-forth with Illustrator and Vectoraster (https://lostminds.com/vectorast... which has some interesting animation functions built into it. Only a handful of parameter tweaks got to this, but it's exciting to do something out of my comfort zone.

A friend of mine has been collecting watches for 20 years.
For the last 2 weeks he's been removing the bands, and fashioning the watch faces into a belt.
He finished it, put it on, but none of the watches were working.
It was a complete waist of time.

"The unique characters of Utah 2034 are embodied in it with shapes and angles reminiscent of the landforms of the American West, as well as those of athletes in action."
