I was reminded by a friend earlier that it was 9 years ago today that I flogged the 2 rarest records I have ever owned. So here I am showing off my Banksy designed sleeves, I sold both of them and took the lad on holiday and bought a car! The Blowpop Records 12" above STILL holds the world record for the most expensive Banksy sleeved disc ever sold at auction. It was hand-sprayed by the mystery artist himself and was in mint condition, it went for £5,850 to an art gallery in Paris. The other one is a compilation that went for over £1,200. They were both sent to me free ten years earlier by the promotions company when I was working as a volunteer DJ on a community radio station. I carried a tiny pang of guilt for selling them for a while but when the station moved to new premises I repainted the building inside and out so felt much better, haha. I have no regrets in parting with them either and have never seen copies out in the wild or at fairs since though I have looked in vain!

win/fail of the day : I found an original UK top opening mono with all the inserts & inners at the boot this morning. The lady had all of The Beatles original mono pressings albums for £15 a pop, but I chose this one over the others, which tbh I already have. So it had a few tape marks on the edges at the front so I took some isopropanol and a cloth and cleaned them off sweet, however in my wiping frenzy I rubbed it's unique printed number clean off!
I have to say I never thought it would actually rub off so easy as I thought it was printed deep into the sleeve, but no. The pic below is of my old copy for comparison but I am not cheeky enough to try and pass off the rubbed sleeve as a low number, or am I? mwahahahahaha, etc.
