Talking about self injecting... My partner had our first child the other day. We'd spent 9 months planning a home birth but the baby refused to come out so at 18 days over the due date we made the shitty decision to have a c-section and instead of a home birth we had to have her cut open and spend 3 days in hospital. I was sat in the operating room with her - it was one of the most intense things I've ever been through - I had to use all of my strength not to burst into tears the whole time we were in there. I managed to keep it together, just about, but fuck me it was intense.

Anyway, after going through all of that, feeling like she's been cut in half, having the baby kicking her wound, going through excruciating pain breast feeding, andnot sleeping, she also has to inject herself in the leg once a day. It's grim. And most of the time I'm just sat there next to her, in perfect comfort, pain free, feeling guilty and wondering what small, meaningless task I can do next to try and make myself useful.

The baby is adorable though. She cries way less and sleeps way more than I thought she would, and her poo smells like double cream.

    • Oh ho! As harrowing as all that sounds, congrats, papa!Continuity
    • Thanks! To be fair to my misses though she's a trooper, she's in high spirits and is enjoying the new experience, despite all of the fuckery she has to endureset
    • Congrats!
