Look, as long as we're all gonna talk about self-injecting ...

I may or may not have mentioned before that I have severe psoriasis. Or, rather, *had*.

I went for years and years using topicals like betamethasone. For a bit they worked, but they're greasy as fuck and really do a number on your quality of life.

But eventually, the condition just got so out of control that I couldn't keep up anymore. The other issue I had was that my previous dermatologist — some cantankerous 957-year-old cunt of a witch doctor — didn't believe in prescribing anything other than creams and ointments.

Probably to no-one's surprise, he also had a great, big, giant wooden cross hanging in his office. So I guess science was off the menu, there.

Finally, I got sick to the tits of this guy, and found myself a new dermatologist. Younger, in her 30s, not long out from her doctoral studies, and very much believes in stuff other than creams and ointments.

So, she prescribed me risankizumab earlier this year. One epi-pen every three months. Stab myself in the leg with it, and I'm good to go.

And I can't even believe what a difference it made. Before that prescription, there wasn't a single part of my body not affected by psoriasis. Ugly, painful, raw, horrific, and completely uncontrollable.

Now, I'm completely clear, and it took maybe two or three months to get to this point. But I started seeing results maybe ten days after the first injection. After that, it's just maintenance doses every three months.

    Fucking miraculous.
