Went to a friend's house this weekend for their daughter's 4th birthday party. 95% outside distanced, but shook some hands.
They just called to say the husband tested positive for COVID, but nobody else has in the two days since the party.

Even in tiny Uruguay COVID is getting worse. Upcoming summer, a false feeling of security provoked by very low infections / deaths in the last three months, and a very liberal / open commercial government posture is starting to give quite alarming examples: We went from <10 daily infections to >50 in two weeks. Last week I post something on Twitter about the protests in Germany. Nothing special just a one sentence joke about how people gathering in a big crowd to protest lockdown might be counterproductive.
Holy shit..for the past several days I've been getting hundreds of responses from these coronavirus conspiracy people. Saying there's no virus at all or that it's part of some evil plan to implement a global communist government.
Many of them cite this video by the World Economic Forum which talks about "the Great Reset." They also seem to think there is something called the 77 Brigade which goes around tricking people into thinking COVID-19 exists

Have any of you known someone who got the virus, and possibly got it bad, and your immediate thought was "but of course that person got it..."
Just heard of an old acquaintance who is my age that has been in the hospital for 4 weeks.
When another friend told me, my exact reaction was "of course that guy got it." I'd seen him pop up in political conversations on friends pages and the guy was so far out there in his ideas and apathy, it was just no surprise at all.
That said, I don't wish this virus on anyone. His whole family got it and were better in 3-5 days; he's been in the hospital for a month.
