OK, I'm going to bed. I just read the following Youtube comment and found myself totally agreeing with it.
"My theory about Guinan is that she doesn't have any actual powers herself, however she does have vast knowledge of the Q continuum, and perhaps many "friends in high places". We know that Q is subservient to the others in the Q continuum as they punish him several times by either casting him out or taking away his powers. Guinan shares her insight with Picard by saying "Not all the Q are alike; some of them are almost respectable". This implies that she knows other Q, and Q's reaction to her implies that he is aware of this, and considers her a threat to him because of her potential relationship to these other Q. It is possible that her defense stance was simply a way to signal her Q friends that they may have to put Q back in his place. If Guinan has the natural (or gained) ability to sense disturbances in the space-time continuum alerting Q's presence to her, and she also has the ability to signal other Qs in the continuum anytime she wishes, then she would be a legitimate threat to Q. The Q continuum doesn't normally interfere in the affairs of mortals, so they wouldn't help her solve a mortal problem. But they have no hesitation about intervening to stop a rogue Q from affecting the galaxy. They did the same thing to Amanda Rogers parents, and to Quinn. That's my take on the Guinan/Q relationship."

This week, Juan Villanueva resigned as a board member of the [Type Director's Club] and posted his resignation letter online, calling the TDC a racist organization.
First and foremost, we, the TDC board, apologize to Juan. His commitment and contribution to the TDC during his tenure was invaluable. His leaving is a huge loss, and his experience as a board member, which left him feeling, as he said in his statement, “steamrolled, suppressed, silenced and condescended to” is our failure.
Juan’s call to action coincides with a moment of change for the TDC. As is known by many, our organization faces serious financial challenges exacerbated by the ongoing COVID-19 emergency. Due to financial pressures that pre-date Juan’s statement the Type Directors Club is no longer financially solvent.
In light of this financial reality, and confirmed by Juan’s experiences, the board has decided to dismantle the organization in its current state and end the lease on the Club’s physical space.
The board believes the club should be reconstituted in a new, more inclusive form, under different leadership in the future. The current board will do whatever is necessary to support that reconstitution.
We thank our members and sponsors for all of their support over the years. We will be in touch in the near future with additional information regarding details of how precisely the current club, and all of its programs, will be reorganized to better serve our community.

I feel you Pango. I just got my hair done as well. I feel like if we get locked down again, I can make it another 2-3 months and look and feel decent.
In other news, as a dark-skinned person in a very backlit new home office, I have not been able to fix lighting in that room to make video conferences look decent. So, I just ordered a ring light to clip on to the computer. I hope this finally works so I don't look like a silhouette in the office I set up to work in. There's no good way to turn the desk where this horrible lighting wouldn't be the case. The window covering is vertical blinds. It will be better when I can get some blackout shades in there. But, our building is brand new. I'm the first to live in this unit. So, taking down newly installed window treatments is going to be a little tricky and I may need to get it approved by management. This apartment is awesome but vertical blinds are atrocious.

Came back to civilisation today after a few days in nature...
Oh man, the city feels like another world, feeling like I need to re-learn how to do things around here. Spent about 5-6 mins just starring at the washing machine not knowing how to turn it on again.
The nature days were wonderful, went into the woods, went into a nearby river, got some nice stones, had barbecue with family, spent the evenings with some wine just waiting for the sunset to finish and the night to come over our village, beautiful stuff.
Nature is amazing!

Beaches are opened today in MX finally, I haven't been in the water in 3 months (its one of the main reasons I'm here) it was pumpin at around 8', couldn't surf since the outside was closed out but took a much needed swim this morning regardless of the crazy riptide. by 8:am people started piling onto the beach so I split, I hope no one drowns, on average I save at least 1 person a year being pulled out in rips. shits gonna close again for sure.
I understand the reason for closing the beaches for large gatherings of people drinking, but closing it for solo sports and exercise like surfers, dog walkers and runners sucks many dicks.
They allow us to buy alcohol and eat shit food, but sunshine and exercise is forbidden. lazy fat bastard lawmakers.

(Full Disclosure: I've already watched Gilmore Girls 3 or 4 times with ex's, and I just really, really hate Lorelai.
