How does it feel having a boss?
I haven't had a boss in about 12 years.I had a business partner for a bit and we would berate each other like street cats.
I wouldn't mind having a boss again. I don't think it would be weird?

So is the ozone layer like cool now?
- It always was - pretty chilly up there.Nairn
- nah, china still pumping out CFCs like there's no 2021Doris_McSquirter
- No they're not - they have occasional bursts from illicit industry, but are not doing it en masse with any legitimacy.Nairn
- Canada produces 15.19 metric tons of carbon per person.
China Produces 7 Metric tons of carbon per person.pango - From 2017pango
- Ya Doris, China is completely innocent.Gnash
- Never mind that it’s CO2 that’s killing the ozone layer and China produces the most of that shitGnash
- https://www.ucsusa.o…Gnash
- lol of course thats all you see. china deserves criticism. but us as canadian is doing twice as bad per person compare to china.pango
- Canada 2% vs China 28% of the worlds carbon immersions, nice try though.Gnash
- yes that is true. there are a lot of rooms for them to improve.pango
- They also have 37 times the population. even if each of them contributing 1/4 of each canadian. they will still contribute more as a nation.pango
- seems like they are doing more to keep it down. in fast they are doing twice as much compare to canada.pango
- Lol. Nice ccp spin there, well done. Now do genocide per capita?Gnash
- I don't think you're looking at this objectively at all. jumping from 1 subject to another, just trying to find something to say china bad.pango
- if you think canada is above criticism, you've got a problem.pango
- genocide by ccp is like the new hillary email for you.
"how's the weather today? G: what about genocide by CCP!!"pango - Keep pretendingGnash

I'd like to get back to drawing / sketching again, and with the apps available on the App Store, I think there are more than enough options to fit my style / needs.
Any iPad or iPad Pro users here? Specifically those using an Apple Pencil. Which do you use? Do you enjoy it? If you are using one, have you used the other for comparison?
I have a Wacom Cintiq, it is not portable at all. From what I have seen on YouTube, the lag on an iPad, whether it be Pro or not, will be less than I currently experience with the Wacom. Being less on the Pro than the iPad respectively.
As far as parallax, the Cintiq has it, the iPad has it, the Pro has significantly less.
I feel like I've already talked myself into thinking that buying a used iPad Pro or new iPad with a new Apple Pencil to supplement the Wacom and get back desk space will be enough.
I guess I want to see if anyone has any personal iPad / Pro anecdotal experience they'd like to share?
- iPad Pro 2018 + old version pencil + Procreate = around $600 done!grafician
- You will develop a tick, double tapping the paper when drawing irl to undo...grafician
- Go for it, I went with the larger one, find it more comfy. New pencil + Procreate + a screen protector (got the Benks one) for paper rather than glass feel.spl33nidoru
- The smaller sizes are certainly better if you want to carry it around often, which I don't. Also get a strong case as these Pro are thin and will bend easily.spl33nidoru
- so far, that's pretty much my planimbecile
- oops, that reply was to graph. thanks for the input spl, I hadn't thought about protection / transport yetimbecile
- I too have the 2018, it's perfect, can't think of anything I would need the newer one forspl33nidoru
- I rediscovered Wacom+Photoshop recently and it's the best option for me. People using Procreate on iPad is noticable i think, there's a look from it that is recBennn
- Bought the first iPad Pro and Pencil for the purpose of sketching, tried and tried but coming from years on a Wacom I honestly don't like the Pencil.face_melter
- The balance is wrong, with the weight at the top end and the cylindrical shape slips in your hand. So if you want the OG Pencil, def. try it first.face_melter
- As for apps, I recommend Art Studio Pro - the closest thing to desktop Ps you can get, makes Adobe's efforts look like pure shit. It even reads Ps brushes.face_melter
- good call https://www.wacom.co…imbecile
- I've used the 2018 10.5" and the 12.9" as well as the newest ones. I prefer the older series not just for price but for feel. Rounded edges, circular pencil.********
- I prefer the midsize (10.5 or 11) over the 12.9". I like to hold the iPad while I draw and the 12.9 gets heavy in the hand, it's awkward.********
- Also the price of the 2018 model plus pencil plus keyboard was hundreds less than the new models********
- Work bought the iPad Pro 2018 with Pencil for me. Finally using procreate on it. Takes some getting used to.shapesalad
- Other drawing apps not as good as procreate. Yet procreate isn’t perfect. I want a quick custom menu panel. To throw brushes and swatches in.shapesalad
- You’ll want a rubber grip thing for the pencil. If you’re not young and have bad finger joints like me.shapesalad
- Not had any issues with lag. That’s an issue only nit pickers and people looking to make YouTube videos face.shapesalad
- I picked up my wife's apple pencil to play with on my iPad mini and found myself enjoying drawing again https://www.flickr.c…JerseyRaindog
- Link got cut off I think https://www.flickr.c…JerseyRaindog
- Now I've taken to drawing tractors just for the hell of it https://www.flickr.c…JerseyRaindog

Productive day. Woke up while it was still dark, finished work on a client site, cleaned in the kitchen, did some laundry, grabbed some groceries, and decided to make myself a burger for lunch. It was 9:30 am. Still ate it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Baskerville's gorgeous Recent Work post has got me thinking.
I never at all considered the tight time frames involved in painting still life in the old days. Stupid, I know - it's fucking obvious.
Beyond that, good artists are often polymaths - Da Vinci being the prime example of someone who mixed art, natural investigation, science and engineering. I wonder how often through history artists delved into scientific realms to help try and achieve perfect artistry? I can imagine some artist annoyed by the rotting of expensive fruit investigating means of preserving them so they can hold them in frame for longer. That then becomes useful information for those back in commerce, better able to keep stock longer. It's a bit of a stupid example, but it sort of perfectly described the importance of artistry and play in the realm of science and whatever hard arts there are.
I've just had an early afternoon joint, so I may read this back later and wonder at its vapidity.
- Interestingly, "Artist" was at the bottom of DaVinci's list of skills when he pursued new patrons.Gnash
- He painted begrudgingly. there are almost no finished works by him.Gnash
- accept the fact that there is no perfect apple.sted
- great thought. it's just living life curiously and getting to work. I feel I'm like DaVinci just not as good or detailed. I'm different.********

I'd love to see social media companies or even the gov ban the use of public officials on such platforms. Im all about freedom but public officials give up freedoms to serve. The discourse through such platforms only enables the worse in humans emotionally triggering without context or understanding of shit. Hell most people who read the tweets have no idea what is what and is why it needs to be emotional. This turns our political system into a idiotic childish highschool melodrama of nonsense. No more is sense and sensibilities based on objective reasoning. We have reverted adults back to their childhood wonder if a prom queen candidate ever said something mean to them. Or wether a friend connected to the account with clout like prom queens friend says you better think this way and vote for her or you get smeared. Its incredible looking from the outside how social media reverts what seemed to be adults back to children. With all their insecurities and trivial shit that parents use to tell the kids it will all change when you are an adult and out and not pidgon holed amongst a very small tribe of people. The true opportunity of adulthood getting away from it and the diversity of thoughts and opinions. Picking and choosing what you believe on emo or reason and being free in a society.
I doubt twitter would ever ban political people considering politicians are main reason they had a profit for once. Better option to hope people disconnect from the social networks. They are so fuckin shallow and pointless and do absolutely no good except for popular high schooler type kids which well always have a following of idiots which getting out of high school experience is suppose to fix...
Just getting tired of children everywhere and strongly believe its media. as postman predicted so correctly

- Perhaps if I phrased in a poll question. Should politicians have social media accounts. Then maybe a legit response. But when confronted with aspects much large********
- And my own personal thoughts. The mind folds. It's never learned how to think or answer a question without a collective spoon-fed response to narratives it know********
- Makes sense with the hostility of responses a d basic human nature. Fight vs flight being online and snarling insults********

Helped a friend to a painter where I sent a pair of times my cars to paint when they get scratches...
He wants to paint an old Vespa and painter wanted to take a look at the bike; "take it here on a trailer or..."
A trailer? I said, wait, I'll get it into my Multipla and we're back in five minutes (the painter's workshop is at a pair of km from our town).
I've removed the seats, get in the bike and we were back in 5 minutes again to talk about the money things... (You had to see the guy's face looking us taking the bike out from the car).
LOL, I love this "crap" of car!
