Investigation lists 101 superiors accused of tactics such as using drones to ‘finish’ off retreating troops and sending soldiers on death missions

Robot of the day
Seems like this has the same problem as a lot of other AI tech...it doesn't actually work. So in reality someone will be controlling the robot remotely to create the illusion of an autonomous robot.
- that's stage 1. the AI is learning from the operators. stage 2 or 3 will be autonomous.
they are doing the same at industrial level in japan/philipinesuan - the cheapest humanoid robot will always be exploiting an actual human.jonny_quest_lives
- This is the beginning. Give it 10 years.jagara
- the beginning with a.i and autonomic robots was in the sixties i think..neverscared
- Okay, this is the beginning of something not looking like the Forbidden Planet robot, and something that is physically able to do human stuff (badly for now).jagara

I find it incredible that the council or whoever is responsible for upkeep of the local landmarks have neglected to cover up the graffiti that has been sprayed over the beautiful Mini-Lighthouse up the road in Arbroath for the past 6 months. It's the first thing visitors see as they come into the town from the south and I can only imagine the disappointment so many visitors will have felt as they saw it and thought awww, how sad it looks. I have complained to the council and I would be happy to paint it if the powers that be gave me a 2.5ltr tin of Signal Red!
- It's my age, I actually give a shit about these things now I'm in my 60'sGardener
- I'd probably be arrested if I just went ahead and painted it without permission.Gardener
- There's no respect! Create a GoFundMe, paint it, and then write to the city council complaining that THIS is what taxes are for, you lazy bastards!OBBTKN
- yep, written to em' hoping my lighthouse shaming post on their FB page gets more folks wound up, lolGardener
- just say you're graffiting it and they'll leave you be.hans_glib
- after you paint it, someone (or the sameone) will tag it again :))grafician

- Good news! Council have posted on FB to say they will sort it in the spring, a bit of hassling has paid off.Gardener
- Congrats. Be nice with solar powered lights to make it litcanoe
- I think it's too close to a main road and the railway line, it would look cool but probably cause untold carnage.Gardener

Okay, creative people... I have a question.
I've been attempting to get back into (hand on paper) drawing again.
It's taken a while and I've churned out some shit while I relearn technique and dabble in new media and materials.
I've landed on a set of materials and processes that I like. All still looks like shit but I can see improvement.
I'd like to find a place (not QBN) where people post up their work... not to sell it, not to have smoke blown up the arse pipe, just to go "Hey I just did this" and other people doing drawings go "huh, yeah, okay".
I'm not interested in social media (Insta, TikTok et al).
There used ro be a drawings based forum called... what was it called?... something Emo and cosplayish like DemonArt or whatever?
There was Tumblr but is that still a thing?
Then there was good old Dreamweaver and you could just bang out a shonky html website (I know, because I tried).
My question is... is there somewhere these days where people who like drawing stuff gather to collectively have their drawings ignored or tutted at?
Where do the pencileros hang out in 2025?
- X, Tumblr, instagrafician
- was the emo cosplay site deviantart?sausages
- DeviantArt yes. Thank you.Horp
- Grafician, thanks but not looking for social media 'broadcast it to everybody' so much as 'here's a dank corner where we gather quietly'.Horp
- I have discovered I still have a Tumblr, which amazes me. But I'm looking for a forum rather than a place where one craves attention from random strangers.Horp
- That is not social media, with friends and family, those are the main communities for drawing
if not then try redit or discord idkgrafician - it's a good question.
sadly, the internet has lost its soul in this chase. The wild frontier for misfits and dreamers - it's gone.uan - what I found. Go analog. find local meetups, croquis cafes. there are plenty of them (thanks to the internet).uan
- Yeah, inclined to think I should focus on real&local when I get that far. No ambitions for this, but it would be nice to have some sort of dialogue with peers.Horp
- Go to expos, comic con, art-bars, stores specializing in drawing materials, comic stores... Anywhere, where you can meet other peeps irlOBBTKN
- Or... IG/FB (yes, I know, no social) Pinterest is a good way to know artists near you...OBBTKN
- Cheers OBBTKNHorp

Punches For:
To the smaller agencies / clients of which I'm a 3rd party designer to your main client that think by handing off a PDF packed w/YOUR CLIENT's comments / discussions / non-prescriptive and even prescriptive obvious changes that it's then my job as your designer to INTERPRET THAT CRAP and 'choose' which text to update and which to ignore etc... take a hike w/that nonsense... flush that nonsense internally through your writers / legal and provide clear and concise text changes so I can go about designing... <3
- I feel seenmonospaced
- At this point, I see it like if they’re going to let me interpret it then I’m going to own that shit. Legal loves this hahamonospaced
- You are seen, brother <3
I’m tempted to just ‘interpret’ and put legal thru hell... but that could also kill my contract hahaPonyBoy - lol, do we work at the same place?monospaced
- My contract was just extendedmonospaced
- i am not a good writer but the amount of editorial production i have to do on subjects i know nothing about to get my job done is upsetting.kingsteven
- Amen, I had a small agency working with HUGE multi million Nasdaq traded company wanting me to write headlines and body copy for multiple emails blasts a day...fooler
- ... about products I had no idea what they were or would never buy or be interested in when I was only hired to "design email blasts".fooler
- i think this is systemic most client facing account manager/coordinator roles have been hollowed out to a email trafficker type rolejonny_quest_lives
- copy pasting client feedback is now the norm... at least you're getting consolidated feedback? some projects are just rolling notes throughout the dayjonny_quest_lives
- no way to run an agency... hidden factories just eating up resources.jonny_quest_lives
