    Regarding the hemp article:

    Lots of people are taking this the wrong way. Even I thought "Hey, I use CBD daily, I'm protected!"

    It's not that simple. CBDa and CBGa cannabinoids are typically destroyed in the high-heat process needed to to convert the raw form of cannabis or hemp into liquid tinctures, edibles, etc.

    I looked up the purity report on the product I use (Spruce CBD) and those two cannabinoids were "not detected."

    I think a lot of people think that simply because they vape or smoke, they're protected. As far as smoking, if a high-heat reaction destroys CBDa and CBGa, then a combustable process like smoking is probably going to do the same thing. Then, with vaping, you're talking about the raw form of cannabis that has gone through a high heat process to turn it into a liquid oil form; I'd suspect that it also loses those cannabinoids.

    I assume that the conversion process can be tweaked, because this guy on Twitter talks about his particular CBD oil containing those cannabinoids.

    Give this thread a read: https://twitter.com/chey_cobb/st…

    All that said, it's exciting to see the potential in a growing cannabis market in which we can extract compounds that help us and add to the agricultural reinvigoration that's taking place in the US with the growth of cannabis. I just don't know how far off they are from making this useful.

    TL;DR - Just because you use oils or get high all the time doesn't mean you get the benefit of CBDa and CBGa cannabinoids. But it'd be a lot cooler if we did.

    • Edibles thointeliboy
    • Edibles use cannabis that has been rendered as oil, right? You'd have to know that your source contained those cannabinoids.mg33

    Peak Infectiousness Of Covid-19 With Omicron is 3-6 Days After Symptom Onset, Says New Study

    A new study conducted by Japanese researchers has shown that peak viral loads in people infected with omicron occur between 3 to 6 days after the onset of symptoms. The study raises further concerns about the CDC cutting the self-isolating time for people with Covid-19 to 5 days, not 10.

    The American Medical Association was the latest in a long line of organizations to oppose the move to shorten the self-isolation time after Covid-19 infection and it remains to be seen whether the CDC changes or reverses its stance as the U.S. sets daily world records of reported cases, with the number of people in hospital and ICU’s quickly rising.

    ~~~~
    I'm supposed to be out of quarantine today, 5 days after my positive test, but maybe the CDC has made a big mistake.
    I tested positive on my FTF lateral flow the day before I was supposed to head back home from Scotland. I’m in day 3 of isolation and I just started getting a low hum in my ears, like a distant plane overhead. I can feel it in my skull, it’s fucking inescapable. I can deal with all the other symptoms but this one is seriously freaking me out.
    US Army's 'super vaccine' could protect against all COVID variants. What do we know?
    The Army's vaccine, SpFN, shows promise against all COVID-19 strains, including omicron, and could shield patients against any infection in the coronavirus family.
    When will the Army's COVID vaccine be available?
    No date has been set., Normally, completing all three phases can take up to five years
    I'm on day 8 of isolation now and still getting a ghostly red line on my COVID tests. I'm so bored. I've also had a weird sense of smell for the past few days. I can smell stuff, but there's an underlying weird stench to my flat.
    I'm pro vax... but there's one key factor missing here that Joe could have highlighted:
    The idea is that 100% of people get the vaccine. But the idea is for only a few people to get Covid.
    So if with Covid you're 8x more likely to get myocarditis, there would need to be a 1/8 infection rate for it to be worth vaxxing everyone.
    But as I said I'm still pro vax, even pro vax mandate.
    I'll fucking walk around with a Pfizer blow dart if it means I can get back to normal life someday soon
