I got omicron today, very mild, just slight aches and pains, but we have to cancel our Christmas gatherings with our family.
Oh and I usually leave my wife’s gift till Christmas Eve so I can’t even go out and do that now, what a dick :(

I’m supposed to fly back to Scotland on Monday for my brother’s funeral. Just heard my niece caught Covid and has been staying with various members of my family, including my 80yo mother. I’m already a nervous wreck with all the testing requirements, scheduling, and isolation rules. I feel so stupid for even considering travel right now but I don’t really have an option. It’s all a real fucking mess.

Last night I thought, I'd ask for a QBN tombstone. Wasn't 100% serious about my request, but the reaction to my booster vaccination was way way way higher than they say on media.
High fever, extreme headache and high blood pressure and double than normal heart beat that kept me awake for 4 hours.
I have received the booster from Moderna after having had 2 jabs with Biontech. Officially they say, you should get the booster with the same vaccine, but Germany did not order enough of the Biontech stuff.

I tried to eat a bag of vinegar chips and spat them out as soon as the first chip hit my lips. They had a strong and foul ammonia like smell like nothing I ever encountered.
I thought it was a bad batch or something and instructed the family not to eat the rest, but at dinner that evening, I had salad with vinegar dressing and it was the exact same thing! Just a vile stench.
Apparently a rare side effect of covid is parosmia where certain common things suddenly smell terrible.
