I've just bought Tokina12-24mm for my 400D. Haven't really tried it out yet, but from the couple of shots inside my tiny apartment, it might be really as good as it has been ranked all over "teh intrenet".

Wide Angle lenses for EF-S have design compromises that full-frame wide-angles don't (for 5D, but I know that costs $$)
Alternately, a tripod + stiching and/or something like a panosaurus could be used...
check reputation of retailers here:

I got the 10/17 by Tokina, and I love it.
You might not like it because its not rectilinear (most people that shoot architecture prefer those ones). Some examples I shot:
- I have a canon rebel tooMeeklo
- fish eye lens looks great!! cool picsmirrorball

Tokina & Sigma lenses are ok to attach to a canon 350D then? Soz but I'm bit of an amateur with lenses so I am.

i used to own the 10 22 on my 30 d and it was comparable to my now 16 35 on my 5d, pretty much the same thing given the sensor size ratio thing
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/pr…didn't like the 10 22 because it was useless once i upgraded, but for what you want, you can't go wrong, but i say fuck it, get the sigma 4.5, woot, fun!
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/pr…- that first one version3 any pics of rooms taken by it?mirrorball
- yeah somewhere but as it's gone now i wouldn't know where to look, checks lightroom for evidence...version3

In fact, because of the full frame thing, the Canon lens might not be as wide on your 350D, than the Tokina one (10/17) and the canon one has no zoom, on the one I got if its too curvy you can still zoom in and get rid of it and still be wider than your stock lens (18-55).
I have pretty much the same camera you have, and I love it.
when I was shopping for it, I went on flickr and started searching by camera and by lens, to see the results people were getting with the set up I wanted. You should give that a try.
- is that a tokina 10-17mm lens?mirrorball
- yes, I ended up getting the tokina, I love it. I'm not really a photographer, but I like shooting photos every now and thenMeeklo
- then. If you like the result I posted above, you should get it, you wont be disappointedMeeklo

Just get a lens and take a ton of photos.... Getting used to a lens is more important than having the perfect lens.... Your skill with wide angle oddiites will improve too, wide angle lenses do give you perspective as well as barrel distortion, both correctible in Photoshop or dXO optics and various other software....
The Sigma, Tokina, Tamron and Canon lenses above are all pretty good. If you don't like it, sell it on Ebay for a small loss, the loss is probably not much anyway...
Don't become one of those freaks who spends 6 months reading and thinking about it all the time that their work will be unworthy if they have an unhip lens.... or something without the magic specifications that certain camera freaks called measurebators tend to geek out over....
- I'd love to, but i dont want to waste the money on getting something thats not suitable for what I needmirrorball

70-200 L man, no doubt one of the most versatile canon lenses, and the 24-70 L is badass too.

- if you're on a full frame 24mm is ok. not on a 1.6 cropjaylarson

If you have the 18-55 that came with the 350D in most kits, and you find it not wide enough, then the 17-40 won't be much wider. You need to go to a shop and try the various lenses in the 10-24 range, 10mm is wider than 12, etc. Note that when you shoot interiors with a lens this wide, you'll get less perspective distortion if you crouch down a bit, say you're 5'10 tall, and the room is 8 feet tall, if you squat a bit so the lens is at 4 feet off the ground, you will not have converging verticals the way you would if the lens is at normal eye level. Also, get used to moving the camera slightly, then turning it slightly, moving forwards, backwards, in a bit of a chicken dance while you're squating at half-ceiling height, you'll find that a wide lens will give a somewhat different image at only slight variations of camera position..... you get used to it after a while and learn to previsualize, especially if you usually work at one zoom setting. These lenses are usually less sharp at the ends, so a 10-20 is best from 12-18 or so, and if the lens says it's F4, try F8 or F11 for best results, so you may need a tripod too..
