Here's a pic taken with the Canon-17-40mm-Ultra-Angle lens

The 17-40L will give you better perspective than the 10-22, I have both and the 10-22 distorts quite a lot :o)

Alright, I have an outdoor concert this weekend and my friend asked me to get some shots of them performing. I already got a 70-200 but I am also looking for a nice wide lens and I have a few to chose from (buddy is lending me whichever i pick)
14mm / f2.8 - 35 mm
85mm / f1.2 - 35 mm
16-35mm / f2.8 - 35 mm
24-70mm / f2.8 - 35 mm
28-135mm / f3.5-5.6 - 35 mm- 20D btwOSFA
- I would go 16-35sofakingbanned
- Yep, it's a cracker. Especially the MK2.imadesigner

17mm at aps-c crop is not wide... buy some 10-24 lens or go fullframe and buy sigma 12-24

I shot this series using the 16-35 II. It's a great lens:

Canon 10-22mm EF-S is also my recommendation for interior architecture. I've rented this lens five times in the last two years - it is that good.

what gives you a good depth blur like the 50 at 2feet but say 6-10 feet away?
- graphiknature0
This is a must have: Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM

@erikjonsson:
85mm f1.8
85mm f1.2L
100mm f2
135mm f2L
etc.

Whoops! in regards to my question ^ 7 posts up, the event is indoors, and prob dark... so which lens would be better? Danke!
slappy had recommended the 10-22 , is that one better than any of the ones I mentioned?
- bigtrick0
@OSFA: 16-35mm f2.8L for sure. if it's going to be dark, the 10-22mm is just too slow to be any good.

Here's my recommendation, Canon EFS 17-55mm. A well-rounded lens.

Thanks guys! couldn't get the 16-35 but got the 24-70 instead, and really liked it, although I ended up hating my camera because I also shot with a 5d MkII/50 and 70/20 and fell in love! In case you guys are wondering what to get me for Christmas, ^here's your tip;)
I'll post some shots when I get a chance to get some feedback!

Hey guys! Quick question...
Need to rent a macro lens to shoot our prototype's tiny piece/part for a brochure and possibly booth. I got two options, Canon 100mm / f2 Macro or Canon 50mm / f1.4 Macro.
Which one would you recommend?
info: Tiny white part on black bg... Thanks!!- easy, the 100m. the 50mm isn't a true macro lens.jaylarson
- apparently there is a f/2.5 that is 1:4

I have Sigma 10-20mm F4.0-5.6 EX DC HSM.
I use it on my 400D. It's a nice playful lens. And it's build pretty solid.
