An American tourist in Copenhagen wanted to see The Little Mermaid, and asked me for directions. He then asked me if there is a restaurant inside the little mermaid. I said no, not to my knowledge.

    heh, I like this girl.
she talks a lot about her work/profession but in a way that I really enjoy.

I love people who can summarize their previously complex sounding thoughts in just a few words when they see its necessary. Not just because they seem to pay attention to the other, but because i believe it shows multiple levels of understanding of the context.

    OR

Downloaded this cycling app on my phone which gives me route suggestions in my area (not Strava). I chose a route of the easiest difficulty and went for a ride: 20km of strictly uphill climbing, I had to walk the last kilometers because of how steep and stony the road was -- the fuck is happening? Turns out the route starts on top of a hill and goes down. I did it in reverse (end point was closer to where I live). Fucking idiot

    Jobs, interviews, test projects:

I spent an entire Weekend + Friday night putting together a deck for a test project given to me after a great 2nd interview. I really wanted the job, so I gave it my best shot. Deadline was 9am Monday. It got to Sunday 1am and I decided I'd give it enough time. Submitted it.

    ...

    ...o

(^ that's tumble weed blowing past).

    Nada. no response all week.

Finally I email on the friday am saying something like "just checking you got my project as not heard from you all week". During this time they relisted the job on linkedin, which was reassuring to see.

Lame email comes back later that friday with not so much a thank you for your time & effort, we felt it was good etc etc.... No, nothing just a 'we are going with another candidate'.

Is it just me or is that entirely shit of them?

I replied asking for some constructive feedback... nothing, ghosted.

Should I go all 'karen' on them across Linkedin?

    • That's shitty behaviour for sure.PhanLo
    • that's fucking rude. Sounds like they might not have been the most supportive people to work with / for.Fax_Benson

anybody have good resources or recs for remote computer work?

i'm trying to make a transition to living fully mobile (looking to make a little on-road studio out of an old sprinter van).

i've not had the best luck with finding work in design so i'm looking for more data entry, or really whatever is out there, but i honestly have no clue where to start. i don't need much to live (no kids, no relationships, no debts until i buy this van), so i don't ned to hav high paying work, just reliable work. shit i've been doing production banners lately but that dried up.

    anyway, recs are welcome.

My wife and I watched a 60 minutes episode last night about the problem with Xanax in America, and when they were speaking with this one guy, they described him as “the 29 year old, whose golf shirt does not reveal any tattoos...”

    Watch the video: https://imgur.com/a/Ih8tzX9

I am completely baffled as to why they would say that. Not once in the rest of the episode did they ever talk to this guy about tattoos, or his clothing or anything like that. it’s honestly one of the most bizarre things I have seen on TV and as long as I can remember, and I honestly want to contact someone at 60 minutes to ask what they meant by that.

    It’s so weird.

Doctors Prescribe More of a Drug If They Receive Money from a Pharma Company Tied to It.

Pharmaceutical companies have paid doctors billions of dollars for consulting, promotional talks, meals and more. A new ProPublica analysis finds doctors who received payments linked to specific drugs prescribed more of those drugs.
