I'm a little thrown for a loop over the last weekend to discover one of my high school besties has risen through the levels of a sex cult and is basically #2 in the ranks. she's been accused of keeping slaves, branding them with her initials, paticipates and enforces starvation diets and corporal punishment and blackmail? Say what?????? As a black woman slavery of any kind and branding them to show ownership is seriously problematic. I really couldn't even make this stuff up, it's too bananas.
I've heard of NXIVM before, however Allison's name was never attached to reports the I read. It definately sounded like an "industry cult" that prayed on entertainment an artist types looking to network and help their careers. It reminded me of Scientology with more of a self help/fitness/networking/social climbing spin that a tipping actress like her would be attracted to. A lot of rich New York socialites and old money are involved. So, I can see how it would be attractive to some looking for a way in and up in certain circles they weren't born into.
I am so shocked by all of this. Clearly, their leader has brainwashed all these women to believe somehow they're saving the world. It’s wild what desperation, a craving to belong, or a need for ordained purpose will drive people to. smh

So last week the wife, our 7 month old daughter and I moved into our new (potentially forever) home. It's and old building that really just needs gutted and refurbished.
Had an architect in yesterday discussing what we will do and had a home energy specialist in telling us the best way to heat our home. We are interested in using renewables as you can get most of the money back from Government grants and incentives if done right.
Architect reckons that this time next year it'll be done.
About 4 months of that time will be waiting for our pissy local council to approve the plans as they are so f*cking slow!Just means we have to live for a year in a scabby old house with no central heating and a crap hot water system.
Will be well well worth it though! :)

I'm such a scared pussy... got my iPhone X @ around 11am this morning but have barely opened the box. I think I lifted the phone out of the box for a couple secs to see what was underneath but that's it... still wrapped in it's plastic covers... nearly 6pm and I haven't gone near the thing.
I've broken about 4 iPhones... I have this industrial Otterbox thing coming tomorrow to wrap this sucker in... but as it's not here yet no touching... no playing... def. no setting it up / activating until I can actually pick it up and confidently drop it down the stairs which will more than likely happen w/in the first hour of activation.

Was on a recent flight a few weeks ago.
It was a short flight and a nominal price to bump up to extra legroom. Didn't really think of it til' the way back.
2 girls sat next to me. The big one took the seat in the middle, I'm at the window and her friend in the aisle.
I tried to reach my for my seatbelt, and it was under her ass. "Sorry, it's the curves" she said. Clearly uncomfortable about her size.
I excused myself to use the restroom and just asked her if she'd like to take the window seat (she was clearly falling asleep and not having a comfy experience doing so) They all seemed relieved!
