Neom: Saudi forces 'told to kill’ to clear land for eco-city
Saudi authorities have permitted the use of lethal force to clear land for a futuristic desert city being built by dozens of Western companies, an ex-intelligence officer has told the BBC.
Col Rabih Alenezi says he was ordered to evict villagers from a tribe in the Gulf state to make way for The Line, part of the Neom eco-project.

Pic of the Day
Deep in the Tayma Oasis in Saudi Arabia’s Tabuk province lies a 4,000-year-old rock formation with an unusual feature: It is split down the middle by a straight cut with the precision of a laser beam.

- coolYakuZoku
- Don’t let Joe Rogans pseudo-archeologist see this lol_niko
- Lol nikomaquito
- So there's this rock in the desert, thousands of years old, and clearly has been sliced with a laser. We've only had the technology to do that for like 30yrsProjectile
- No waaayy! So like... it obviously wasn't the ancient Egyptians. So what, aliens? Chimpanzees on DMT?Projectile
- Natural joint split. sorry.microkorg
- There’s advanced magnetic levitation tech inside those boulders which allows them to not only balance impossibly but also keep slightly away from each other_niko
- Yeah the balance is a lot more intriguing than the cut.mort_
- There’s no explanation except aliens. Duh.monospaced

Punches For:
There's a significant risk that tonight's the night my Magic Mouse gets turned into vapor. I even bought a new one last month to see if a new one would get better. But it's not the mouse, it's Sonoma. The lag is absolutely unbearable, both in movement and scrolling with your finger. It's horrible. Never had a problem until Sonoma.
- "Best lag time ever" - Timmy Appleutopian
- LOL. I'm tempted to take a hammer to either of my two older ones just for the satisfaction.mg33
- I'm amazed you've been patient enough to endure a Magic Mouse for this many years.CyBrainX
- Sorry to hear that. Used one for 15yrs and never had an issue. Love it. Probably only charge it three times a year too. I'm still on Ventura though.HAYZ1LLLA
- CyBrain, I love it. I've never had a problem until Sonoma. I'm tempted to do an OS update but I've got too much going on to power everything down.mg33
- So no to so no ma?stoplying

- you're not spoiling her. you're raising a well adjusted daughter who hopefully respects her belongings.imbecile
- spoling her would be buying another after she leaves this one at the playground to walk to a friend's houseimbecile
- I was thinking about that yesterday. I personally never lost or had a bike stolen as a kid. But i also exclusively rode hand me down pieces of shitbogue
- 1. That is a GREAT bike to get your kid
2. Wow, bike configurations have evolved since i was a kid. That is a truly beautiful frame.Nairn - I have always over-biked my kids, at least you know if they hurt themselves having fun, it wasn't because of a supermarket bike. I also ride a Commencal :)slappy
