Sorry if this has been answered before, but does anybody know why he died? Some illness or accident?

Such sad news. Spent some time over the weekend browsing his art. What a talented guy. His contributions here were always wonderful.

Let's all try to honor the legacy of PhanLo
1) Make great art
2) Be nice to people- I'm no good at 1).
But 2) has been happening more lately.
So that's nice.Continuity - 2 is asking a lot... and your food covers number 1 just fine, Continuity. <3PonyBoy

I can't find anything to what may have happened anywhere, does anyone know anything? I literally just got done crying right now. I know he was pretty vocal here about a certain country, was any of that reflected in his art?
RIP brother, you were a true example of what we needed more of in this world.- With respect https://www.phillyde…whatthefunk
- Got it, thanks brother********

- its not the story that we should remember him by.derm

- Interesting question, that. He was prolific so it's likely there's political stuff out there.zardoz
- It would be great if folks close to him could make some sort of retrospective. Memories, his impact on them etc.zardoz

For anyone who is in the Edinburgh side of the world:
Brian's Funeral is at 12pm 18th June at Mortonhall crematorium 30B Howdenhall Road, Edinburgh, EH16 6TX.
as you can imagine there will be a lot of people there, but all are welcome to join.
cheers
D- God! I'd love to be able to go, and it would be great as a Qbners reunion, but these dates are awful... Always in my memory, brother :'(OBBTKN

I just want to pay my respects here. Definitely one of the good people... among the best of them.
Talented beyond measure and yet none of the swagger and arrogance that often comes with it.
A very sad moment.

The only person ever whom I wrote: "you sir make the internet world better" (something like that, I don't remember exactly)
I'm not saying I liked everything he posted, maybe only 96%
His eye for aesthetics, beauty in drawing, painting, animation, all that I could relate to, he definitely made my life better, my eyes better, my soul (if I have one) better. He made me look at a picture and say "amazing stuff"... and without jealousy or anything close to that, just enjoying another one's skill and craftmanship.
and in the world of internets where you have to sift through piles of garbage his posts were always fresh and nice and lovely and .. art. True art, however I want to define it, his posts were that. Beautiful and crafty. the line, the colour, the composition. You could see how he loved it. Did I love it the same? If not, he induced that love into me. Many of his posts were a true aesthetic discovery for me.
I am still very much shocked he's gone, but at the same time he's left us here with a wealth of stuff he considered worth posting, and for all those I am grateful. Extremely sad now (still), but grateful.
I've never met him except here (doesn't really count as meeting but better than nothing I guess), but he did make my life better.
I will see some nice pictures in the future and think "Phan would like that one" or "it's something he'd share"
Thank you, PhanLo, you are truly a legend to me.

Phanlo’s authentic, creative POV left a lasting mark on me. His gift for telling stories, sharing truth, and making people feel something was infectious.
I’ll carry that with me always. RIP, my friend.
