So I mentioned this a few post further up, but if you find yourself in SF you must go here:
the amount of delicious beers on tap is amazing. Their house Pilsner is something really special. Only problem is the crowed really, bunch of twitter duds that fill the house come 6pm PST. get there earlier and get sloshed.

that uptown almanac post is funny / sad. dude has some key points about why SF sucks, and some superficial ones about why he's probably an asshole.
but, san francisco is a totally overrated shithole of a city. the snobbish attitudes / head in the sky whatever about the money that just floats around is no different from los angeles, yet SF people think they and their city are quite superior.
i get every city has a certain stigma and pride in itself, but SF has to be one of the most hypocritical environments for faux-liberalism i've ever encountered.
- yeah, you can't really drive around in your quarter-million dollar maserati and act like you are "for the common man"lvl_13

Yeah, the guy sounds like every egotistical douchebag with woman issues. That is obvious. But the city has a lot going for it. Granted, I live here now, but seeing posters of said douchebag plastered on almost every light post about how this guy is an ass in the SOMA district AND the Financial District says something about the vibrancy of this city. Tons of money rolling around, but a lot of opportunity as well.
So if you hate it, then you leave it (or can't afford it anymore). I'm sure to be in the "can't afford it anymore" soon enough.

*BUMP
I'm hitting SFO 1 - 7 December.
Drop me hate mail if you'd like to drink, do a collab, hang out, need some work done, check out a gallery, drink beer, take photos, film something, make finger puppets in girls.
That is all.

a friend of mine and his wife (40ish) have no kids and both have great jobs. they live in S.F. he bought a 1bd 1bth in a nice new building right next to Dolores Park or Mission or something.
7 years ago he paid $750k for it. He now rents that place out to a company and rents a place in the financial district that is 2bd 1bth.
who knows, that place he bought has probably doubled in value.
what a life man. I just cannot imagine spending that kind of money on a box.
- Living in SF makes you realize how much space you don't actually need. I visit friends and family living in these 3000 square foot places...lvl_13
- And think "what the fuck do you need all this space for? To fill it with more shit?" No thanks.lvl_13
- you are right. it's just the way some of us grew up though. i have two kids and they actually don't play "outside" like we used to.HijoDMaite
- it has at least tripled in value, if not quadruped or more ... that spot is insane and I'm pretty sure Zuckerberg is his neighbor nowmonospaced
- but i just feel like the place is too small for the $$. i know location, location and all but also noise and too much activity and rukkus..HijoDMaite
- look at this monstrosity: https://www.redfin.c…lvl_13
- and yeah, i hear you about growing up in it. we had a decent sized yard and i was out in it every day sun/rain/snow.lvl_13
- haha that looks like a hotel lobby wtf?HijoDMaite
- I don't know ... I kind of like that monstrosity. I used to walk by it almost everyday, it's neat to see what they finally did with it.atomholc
- it's cool that they did something with it, however, making it into condos isn't the best use imolvl_13

- when I lived in SF, I saw a homeless woman take a shit — broad daylight — at a bus stop, right in front of anyone who happened to be nearby, no fucks givenmonospaced
- ^where would you want her to do that that's not too unpleasant for you? cant believe she had the audacity to have basic human needs...dyspl
- half of all public toilets in the UK have closed in the last 10 years, mostly as result of cuts. Up to 90% in some places. While homelessness nearly doubledFax_Benson
- As a longtime SF resident, I say this is republican propaganda. Who documents poop? You're sure that's human, not dog shit? still a beautiful citynuggler
- @dyspl, calm down ... I'm just sharing a personal anecdote about one of many human feces incidents I've witnessed in San Franciscomonospaced
- yeah, there is a lot of human feces here. they have finally opened up a few more "mobile" bathrooms. but not enough to make it visibly less shitty.lvl_13
- also depends on what hood you are in obviously. places like the presidio are very clean-also obviously mostly rich people that live there...so yeah.lvl_13

"instead of organizing to do something about a problem let's pour resources into building a way to complain about something so somebody else takes care of it for us" ... the fact that problem is actual shit is peak san francisco
