a friend of mine and his wife (40ish) have no kids and both have great jobs. they live in S.F. he bought a 1bd 1bth in a nice new building right next to Dolores Park or Mission or something.

7 years ago he paid $750k for it. He now rents that place out to a company and rents a place in the financial district that is 2bd 1bth.

who knows, that place he bought has probably doubled in value.

what a life man. I just cannot imagine spending that kind of money on a box.

    • Living in SF makes you realize how much space you don't actually need. I visit friends and family living in these 3000 square foot places...lvl_13
    • And think "what the fuck do you need all this space for? To fill it with more shit?" No thanks.lvl_13
    • you are right. it's just the way some of us grew up though. i have two kids and they actually don't play "outside" like we used to.HijoDMaite
    • it has at least tripled in value, if not quadruped or more ... that spot is insane and I'm pretty sure Zuckerberg is his neighbor nowmonospaced
    • but i just feel like the place is too small for the $$. i know location, location and all but also noise and too much activity and rukkus..HijoDMaite
    • look at this monstrosity: https://www.redfin.c…lvl_13
    • and yeah, i hear you about growing up in it. we had a decent sized yard and i was out in it every day sun/rain/snow.lvl_13
    • haha that looks like a hotel lobby wtf?HijoDMaite
    • I don't know ... I kind of like that monstrosity. I used to walk by it almost everyday, it's neat to see what they finally did with it.atomholc
    • it's cool that they did something with it, however, making it into condos isn't the best use imolvl_13
