Went through old HDs today, because I was searching a specific set. I didn't find it, but I stumbled upon these old photographs. I took them on August 31st, 2001. I booked a flight in a helicopter to photograph the NYC skyline from above. It were the most expensive 8 minutes of my life and I remember thinking that even hookers offer their services at lower prices.
This was still on film and I only have these images in very small sizes. But what still gives me chills is what happened only 11 days after I took these images.

My wife had an interesting incident yesterday at the school she teaches at. Lunchtime arrives and the kids all head out to the playground. About 10 minutes in, a kid in her class, about 7 years old, runs in and tells her that a little girl in prep (that's a 5-6 year old) was causing a bit of commotion and hitting other kids with a stick.
So my wife goes out to investigate...only to find the little girl running around the yard with a giant pink dildo that she'd brought in from home!

Today felt a bit like a punch in the gut or a break up.
I was dating a girl since a few weeks and we decided to keep it casual and usually I love just casual/ FWB. But I started to get feelings for her and told her about it and she said she wasn’t interested in something more serious. She was really cool and arty (on top of really cute).
It really hit me harder than I thought it would. Usually it happens the other way where girls start to get feelings during a FWB and want a relationship and I’m the one declining. Now it’s the other way around.

Took a big chunk out of my hair the other day when 'trying to do a quick trim' with a shaver, ending up with a small horse's mane-worth of hair in my hand. Right before I was going to take my kid to the park. On the first really warm day of the year, so couldn't wear a hat to cover my shame.
I've basically spent the last couple of days groping the back of my head, trying to work out how to compensate for my fuck up, with my hair getting ever shorter, which then spread to my beard as I tried to compensate for the visual distinction, which then led to me over-shearing my tache, so now I'm.. fuck, I just really need to go to a hairdresser so it can be fixed.
Can't trust my partner to fix it for me - last time she trimmed my hair I ended up looking like a 12 year old girl, which as refreshing a perspective as that was to appreciate, was a bit embarrassing. Forty-something old men shouldn't have bobs. Or lanky hair tied up in man buns, for that matter, but if it's good enough for Thom Yorke, it's good enough for me.

Finished the trial today. The whole jury voted guilty on all the charges. I thought he'd go straight to prison, but he only has to go on the sex offender's register before being sentenced in a month or so.
After the trial I mentioned his name to my sister and her partner remembered that his friend had had a run in with him too when he worked in youth work. By run-in I mean he sexually abused the guy.
He didn't seem bothered by the verdict or hearing the men talk about how he'd poisoned their lives through traumatic experiences carried out by him while they were children.
