Jimmy Page is well known for not wanting to have his
picture taken or sign anything at record fairs so I was
reduced to the game of taking sneaky pics - but I can
tell you he smells nice, wears a lot of leather, has a minder
and didn't buy anything off me today - though he did once
buy a Public Image LP from me

Jimmy checks out his own LP but decides it's too pricey!

any lower and I may have been accused of an upskirt shot!
(if he was wearing a skirt, which he wasn't - he's a black
    Levi's kinda guy)

Anyone on here living in Florida (specifically Weston, Ft. Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines, Plantation areas?) I'll be in the area for a few days in November.

    • Places to stay?
    • Things to do other than the beach(although not really there for vacation, I can squeeze one in)?

A little nervous about going truth be told.

I see 'they' are rebooting Curb your Enthusiasm, Roseanne, Will & fucking Grace (should've been called 'Jack & Karen'), Dynasty... another Star Trek... anything else unoriginal I should be watching?

    • Curb is a reboot? That would be hilarious.nb
    • Just more regurgitated Hollywood crapola!utopian
    • Lol at "Jack & Karen" - very true. They should just have their own show.microkorg
    • technically I guess only Dynasty and Star Trek are reboots as they're new casts? Everything else is the same people (like Full Fucking House!!) fucking Tanners.PonyBoy

    "Defragmented Timeline Of My Mind"

we live life on a timeline
    a timeline of our mortality
at least in this present day
    this present time
    my current reality

    but in my observations
    my stupid
    limited
    meditations
    I wonder why?

    I wonder why
    time flies by
    arbitrary
    until I hit certain memories
    that seemingly
    systematically
fill larger portions of my mind.

    I run through
    the unimportance of my life
with the fervor of filling out
    tps reports
    forgettable documents
    for meaningless work
    part time

why is it that the joy
fills so much of the void
    of my
    ridiculous mind?

    somewhere along the line
    GOD created a way
    for defragmentation
    of days
    of weeks
    of time

only the memories worth a shit
    remain easily accessible
    in my RAM.

    And that's fine.

If your lease goes to a month-to-month, do you worry about being kicked out?

    • Not unless you give them a good reason too.monospaced
    • no, but I worry about my rent going up as much as they want each and every monthlvl_13

Went to a National Park last weekend, and its located in a area where they protect the sky from light pollution so we can see the stars at night. I've seen the Milky Way and so many stars, you just can't imagine. I was speechless.

You guys on the East Coast have no idea. Here's a map of the light pollution in the World. Some people are unable to see stars.

    • lol @ light pollution. Eat it up man. Eat it up.Hayoth
    • this is how it is called. There's so much lights in cities now that we cannot see the night sky anymore.Bennn

ugh I'm so very irritated. An extremely distant cousin came to New York and asked if he could stay the other day before he got here. I said no. My place is absolutely not set up for overnight guests, especially right this very moment. But he's got himself in a weird situation so he's on his way here now. I'm trying not to be a complete bitch but it's really fucking rude to even consider crashing at someone's house if they didn't offer in a place like New York City. It's a really city newbie thing to do and I DO NOT LIKE IT ONE BIT. I need to turn my cunty snark down by 68% before he gets here.

Working on some client files, two of which are named 'steamer pusher' and 'steamer collar', and every time I see them 'Cleveland steamer collar' and 'Cleveland stamer pusher' spring to mind, neither of which are particularly enjoyable mental images.

Back to considering getting a standalone computer for music recording. Still using an early 2011 MBP, pre-Retina screen as my main computer, it's nice and fast, 1TB drive, 16MB Ram.

I've got the 27" Thunderbolt monitor, and I can't decide whether I'd rather buy a new iMac, or a refurb Mac Pro. I want/need a computer for recording that's always connected and ready to go rather than connecting, disconnecting my MBP, taking it down to the basement, etc.

Someone suggested selling my 27" monitor and putting that towards an iMac. I don't know if I'd switch to the iMac for most of my photo editing and design work, but I'm sure the newer iMac screen would be a great update to what I currently have.

    Any suggestions?

    • mac pro's cool but its slow as shit compared to what you can get with a pc or hackintosh build, I have the mac pro trash can and work in VR and it suuuuucks.moldero

In Stockholm this week for work. Such an awesome city.

Normally, team members are scattered all over the globe– working remotely, but many are based in Stockholm/EU.

We're having a "summit" where the most company can work, brainstorm and generally be in the same room together. Many of us have worked together at previous companies, so we're all friends. It's great to hang out 3-4 times a year.

Having a handful of locals is great for the best restaurants and bars.

    • You came at the wrong time - most of the town is a fucking building site. And don't be suckered into going out in Söder - its reputation is vastly overblown.face_melter

    Client: We'll use DIN Next.
    Me: Okay

    Week later...

Me: Okay so I used DIN Next for everything except for paragraphs (p). For that I used Open Sans as an example but since your Senior Designer's gonna check on everything he'll probably decide what's best in this case.

Client: We want everything in DIN Next!
    Me: Okay...

In the starbucks vortex and trying to survive a blast of intolerable music. Why do they blast this music? Is this supposed to enhance the coffee experience or is it supposed to drive people out of here? I figure the latter. I miss outdoors Starbucks coffee loitering in the sun. That's something Florida has that NYC doesn't have.

    • Fuck Starbucksgrotesk_neue
