Remember when states were stealing each others PPE because they were criminally unprepared?PhanLo - the timing of both 'Fauci saying we dont need masks' & 'hospitals being critically out of masks' made it obvious back when it was happeningmoldero

"Coronavirus: Dexamethasone proves first life-saving drug
By Michelle Roberts
Health editor, BBC News online""A cheap and widely available drug can help save the lives of patients seriously ill with coronavirus.
The low-dose steroid treatment dexamethasone is a major breakthrough in the fight against the deadly virus, UK experts say.
The drug is part of the world's biggest trial testing existing treatments to see if they also work for coronavirus.
It cut the risk of death by a third for patients on ventilators. For those on oxygen, it cut deaths by a fifth.
Had the drug had been used to treat patients in the UK from the start of the pandemic, up to 5,000 lives could have been saved, researchers say."

- This news release sounds a lot like what we were told about Hydroxychloroquine in the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic.utopian
- it was a double blind, random trial with control patients. hydroxychloroquine was a hunch of a french doctor based on 35 people, that hype is all on trump.kingsteven
- looking back, Trump must have been told at the time the French guy supported him + is a climate change denier. there's definitely more to that story.kingsteven

One model cited by the White House now predicts 200,000 US deaths from coronavirus by October 1 -- an increase of 30,000 deaths since last week's projection by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington.

Britain is fucked:
Health minister says app should roll out by winter
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/techn…- Woohoo! Second wave of destruction headed soon.PhanLo
- Nobody will use this app. Nobody trusts the government or the company behind it with their data. What a farce!microkorg
- £46 million pounds well spent!webazoot
- Apple and Google would have had this thing working by now.SlashPeckham
- They've just binned it.monoboy
- To be fair, they were already working with Google and Apple anyway.
The issue is privacy. The NHS want the data on a centralised database.monoboy - But they'll never have the capacity that Google or Apple have. So will have to go with trust.monoboy
- Given Google have just transferred all our data (UK) out of the EU (Ireland) because of Brexit. We're under US data protection laws.monoboy
- So no doubt it'll be used for more than just COVID-19 track and tracing at some point.monoboy
- The NHS handed over patient data to google en-masse recently too. And therefore to private companies.monoboy
- All part of the paid-for healthcare system that's on the way post December 2020.monoboy
- Just heard we finished our app here in Denmark today.... so arn't they being a bit slow?Nutter

Doctors Opinion

^ I mean it's great that everyone can broadcast their opinion these days, but do these people not feel a small bit of guilt sending out fake info in the middle of a pandemic?
Out of curiosity I checked what he was saying about no excess deaths....it's simply not true. According to the numbers here deaths in the USA were 22-35% higher in April which is the last month they have numbers for.

it's 7AM and I just saw a man walking on the empty street with his mask on .... WHY?
People need more logic. The chances that you get the covid by walking on the street is suuuuuper thin, like non existant!
- you should be a doctor.imbecile

"More than 150,000 new coronavirus cases were reported to WHO yesterday — "the most in a single day so far,” World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said during a Friday briefing.
“Almost half of those cases were reported from the Americas, with large numbers also being reported from South Asia and the Middle East,” he added.
Tedros warned, “The world is in a new and dangerous phase. Many people are understandably fed up with being at home. Countries are understandably eager to open up their societies and economies. But the virus is spreading fast, it is still deadly, and most people are still susceptible.”WHO urges people to continue to maintain distance from others, stay home if you feel sick, wear a mask when appropriate, and washing your hands frequently."

Arizona and Florida report record-high single-day increases in coronavirus cases.
The Arizona Department of Health Services reported 3,246 new positive cases, exceeding Thursday’s single-day high of 2,519 cases.
Florida health officials added 3,822 new cases Friday morning, surpassing its previous single-day high of 3,207 cases also reported on Thursday.
More states are reporting record-setting daily numbers of Covid-19 cases as infections spread at an alarming rate.
