I had a vegan friend who was 5'2 and probably weighed 70 lbs. Super frail. She ended up getting osteoperosis when she was 33.
I'm sure it was unrelated to her diet though.

I was vegan for over a year recently, and lately I am 100% vegan at home, and then about 90% away from home. Unlike most vegans/vegetarians I will indulge in meat occasionally, I prefer it to dairy if I'm going to go for something.
There is so much misinformation out there. This book cleared up a lot of it for me. http://www.amazon.com/Eating-Ani…
I see it like this: We all would be way better off to eat a much larger amount of fruits and vegetables and grains and nuts and seeds. By default we would eat less meat/dairy if we did this. I think that's the point. More good stuff. Not to attack the bad stuff. Very scientific I know.

what's the really fucked up part is factory farming. not so much the meat-eating. if animals were raised humanely and healthily with respect, meat would be far more rare and expensive as it should be, and we'd all be healthier for it.

the problem with this article is they're using phrases like "plants feel" and "don't like it", as though they experience emotion.there's no evidence to suggest plants feel emotion or any form of cognition.
"damage detection" or "defense mechanism" would be more accurate but get fewer clicks
