At a friend's house. Just snuck out back for a rollie. Am in my socks. Just stood on a slug. I can feel the cold, wet gloop seeping through. I want to go home.

Would like to be in the UK now, and get the day out.
Totally destroyed, tired and all this funny things you need on a monday with the table full of works to be done.
Yesterday been taking wine and beers for 10 hours, no lunch, no dinner.
"Fantastic, you're a total idiot, you're in your 50's, you're going to be f***d for a week now..." Am saying to my reflection in the mirror this now.
- Not in the UK and I'm three pints and 1/3 of a wine bottle in.
At some point you gotta decide for yourself who you gon' be.palimpsest - For you both to consider: https://hubermanlab.…shapesalad

Emailed my landlord recently, asking him to replace my stupid basic white Gorenje gas stove with an electric thing. With the price of gas scheduled to skyrocket, I didn't want that thing in here, sucking money away any longer than it needed to be. His reply:
'I would very much like to do this, but unfortunately the apartment does not have the corresponding high-voltage line (400 volts and 5 phases), so such an installation currently seems impossible. Unfortunately we have to live with the situation.'
WTF?! Fuck this shit.
- The stove doesn’t use THAT much gas though. Probably not even cheaper for electric for just that appliance. Electricity is also going up. Mine doubled.monospaced
- Wouldn't gas be cheaper, given the inefficiencies incumbent in burning gas to create electricity, and the transmission losses in getting it to you?Nairn
- I'm asking 'cos I genuinely don't know. Obv the base logic is a bit skewed by pricing caps and energy market rate, etcNairn
- That sucks. Here it’s 240v, 3-phaseGnash

- the stove top plates does not need 400V, it just needs 220V (Ikea for example). the separate oven needs 400V, i think.api
- similar issue here, LL won't stump for a new circuit to support an electric oven, so we're getting a gas one. Old school but the best for Yorkshire puds...MrT
- Your gas stove isn’t going to cost that much. It’s the heating bill you should be worried about.OP31

I really do not like one of my coworkers.
She's in a different department so we don't really have to work together, but she's friends with someone I collaborate with and she comes over to our area a lot.
They always have the most inane conversations, mostly about her sex life and relationship drama (which is never detailed), which is always basic convo about how some guy is dumb.
It's really starting to get to me. How do I ignore them?

Made £500 in 24 hours trading the FED rate and then BoE rate.
A few simple trades. One trade made £100 in 3mins. Lovely stuff.Right back to the boring design work...
- Return rate 1.95 | Win rate 70% | Profit/loss ratio 1.79:1shapesalad
- Far more intellectually challenging trying to predict and time trades, than moving some text around a layout.shapesalad

- i think you may be confusing completing a technical task that requires intuition and ego flexing on the internet as intellectualism when its just endorphins butkingsteven
- yes, graphic design is workkingsteven
- I'm confused. but anyway, made an extra £50 while on a work call. Trading the volatility as the market figures out which way it's going = fun.shapesalad
- how does trading volatility looks like in real life, what are you doing exactly?sted
- Look at hourly chart for a USD/JPY pair - typically price only moves a certain amount each hour in a average week. Very pedestrian.shapesalad
- If you trade in those times, a sensible sized trade, after an hour if you got the full move of an hourly candle you are up maybe £20.shapesalad
- However since FED announcement and then BoJ trying to stop their currency crashing - the hourly candles are massive! Price is moving massively.shapesalad
- Pips they call it. So if you can figure out the right direction, within minutes with your normal safe trade size - you're up £100.shapesalad
- Basically you can make money quicker when market moves are big. It's more risky as you need to be quick. But it's super fun.shapesalad
- Do it again thendrgs
- that looks like simple technical trading on forex. I was hoping that you have some indexes like CBOEVIX or ASX200V, and trade the news/momentumsted

I've been extra blue / stressed lately, so I caved to Ms. Garbage's suggestion to get the fuck out of the city for a day or so. We're going camping with the dogs.
Nothing adventurous, just car camping, but I'm posting this to hold myself accountable.
I won't just do shrooms and sleep in a hammock. I will do shrooms, attempt to draw and take photos in the dismal MAGA countryside where we're headed.
Will post results, and I expect garrulous and savage critiques.
