Saw a dude walking into a glass window yesterday. Probably the funniest lately. I should thank him.

Design is basically just 10% design and 98% managing expectations.
- proper design is pushing expectations over the edge, under that its just reproduction nothing else.sted
- 98% regurgitation + 2% innovationutopian
- 73% perseverance, 24% talent & 13% attention to detail.palimpsest
- that's 110%, lolsted
- I always give it 110%.
Unlike grafician that stops at 108%.palimpsest - @utopian 2% is the baseline, 5% innovation is enough for everyone, anything over that considered as reinventing the wheel: )sted
- Design is 1% creativity, 49% clicking a mouse button, 50% being told to change this and that from your 1% creativity.shapesalad

A soda actually becomes a nice refreshing drink, if you dilute it with carbonated water. Less sugar, same amount of carbonation.
- Might be an old trick, but i just learned it ;)jagara
- Seltzer plus splash of juice, even betternb

- All cola needs to have a ton of ice. No exceptions.monospaced
- I do that with orange juice. But not soda...inteliboy
- Seriously? You drink Diet Coke diluted im carbonated water? You’re a fucking monster.maquito
- It doesn't work as well with cola. But for citrus-y sodas, it works. IMHO...jagara
- And I'm talking 20% dilution, not half-n-half.jagara
- Otherwise, most mainstream soda is WAY too sweet for me. You do you.jagara

An F15 just flew overhead quite loudly - I say quite loudly because i'm currently deaf in one ear and it was loud. Just checked FlightRadar and its done a few circles around to the East of London, flew over town and has gone back East again. I wonder what's going on?
- Apparently it's the #1 most-tracked plane on FR worldwide, so I'm clearly not the only person to have taken an interest in it.Nairn

- I'm surprised they'd be allowed to 'make their presence known' over London. Seems like it was all pre-planned, so nothing to see here, but still...Nairn
- @OB: I'd love be to see an A10 flying nearby, just contextually, not on strafing runs...Nairn

Do people in the USA use the A paper sizes? A3, A4, A5 etc? Or is that odd 'legal' paper sizing?
- We don’t use the metric sizes. No.monospaced
- Well. Regular consumers don’t. Those sizes are common in the printing industry.monospaced

A "friend" of mine has been unemployed for 6 months and we meet up for lunch occasionally. I ask her how she's doing and she says she's happy collecting unemployment and "working on herself".
Now she texts me randomly and asks if my work is hiring.
I've been sending her job pages and giving her suggestions forever but her work ethic is questionable.
After 6 months, there's no way I'm personally recommending her.
- You sure you don't want her to do nude photos for your odd porn collection?shapesalad
- sounds like you dont want to be friend with her.pango

A paper sizes question:
If you're from the USA - an online poster store selling A1, A2, A4 sized prints - that's not going to work for you guys? Will average consumer get the 'A1, A3, A3' sizing or that totally alien over in USA?
If you went to Ikea, frames wouldn't be standardised for it? Easy to pick up a Frame for an A2 print?
Or are these sizes more 'standard'?
24x36in
16x24in
12x16in- typically nobody uses A sized papers in the US and canadapango
- No average consumer in North America uses that sizing system. Standard for posters here are 18x24, 24x36Gnash
- Photo prints have more varied standard sizes, but nobody uses the A1,A3,.. system as a consumer facing elementGnash
- You already asked this question.monospaced
- Even at ikea - everyone here finds their euro style measuring annoyingGnash
- Yes, sizes in inches are standard.monospaced
- But the idea that we can’t get A size frames or custom frames is ludicrous. We can get anything here. It’s just a minor inconveniencemonospaced
- It’s easier to get a frame for a 12x18 or 18x24 than an A frame if you’re just grabbing it off the shelf I suppose.monospaced
- Cool got it. Damn... Would be easier if the whole world used the A standard. Inches... flipping heck...shapesalad

I'm going to buy my first house in a market that is shit (it will take 2 years before it is done). I guess i have to since it will take years before the market returns to normal. There is a large shortage of housing in the Netherlands.
I'm fucking nervous if this is the right decision but waiting for better times seems to only make it worse so far.- There is never a better time to gt on the housing ladder than right now. Trust me, I've been playing that game here in London for 20 fucking years.Nairn
- When I first came here, I had the option of an ex-council place "but it's in South London" whinged I. Fucking fool. Should've got it. Place is fashionable nowNairn
- 100% do it. The only way to lose in the housing market is to get forced out once you’re inGnash
- Buy only if you're certain that area is not going to be affected much about climate change.
Like the netherlands being flooded
Oh waitgrafician - Do it ASAPHayzilla
- oke thanks guys. Gonna cost me a shitload but i guess it is better then leaving it on my bank account..milfhunter

My wife has been having some pain down below for a little while. Went to the doc...she thought it was cramping or a pulled muscle. Anti inflammatories for a bit...didn't improve. Went for an ultrasound...nothing. SO she was sent for a cat scan a few days back.
She gets a note from the doc this morning saying she'll call her tomorrow late morning.
My wife is now shitting bricks...surely if it was something serious, they 1) wouldn't tell you over the phone and 2) wouldn't wait an entire day to give you the news if it was serious?
You'd think they'd learn to manage these things a bit better.
Anyway...here's to a day of worrying.
- Good Luck Buster. As you say. Probably nothing to worry about since they don't ask you to come over. Make sure you are being the calm one it the waiting processmilfhunter
- Confort your wife and try to put a smile in her face until the visit... You both need to manage this time as fast as you can, good luck!OBBTKN
- Fingers crossed for her. Sure it'll be fine.Hayzilla
- You'd think he'd phone quicker if it was bad news.Brabo_Brabo
- So it thankfully wasn't what the scan was attempting to pickup. Now a colonoscopy...next.BusterBoy

Anyone else brew beer? I've been busy bottling a bunch of fruited mixed culture beers. Slowly building up the booze cabinet.
- Made IPA back in the day. Recently met someone who might get me back in the game. What are you crazy kids into these days?

i think today's the last day i do.
a work colleague of the wife called me "boy scout" the other day. i took it as a compliment.
- Oh God No - I've been in jeans for about three weeks now. More to do with my gay little white plimsolls getting a bit worn down so wanting to return to boots.Nairn
- I can't do the boots and shorts thing - that's just too much, and my feet were getting sore walking an hour and a half each day in the plimsolls.Nairn
