I believe I am going to speak in Wichita as a community member on Jan 16, in regards to the officer involved shooting of Andrew Finch.

I was wondering if anyone here would be interested in assisting me in preparing my statement? Maybe help keep me on topic, make a strong comparison to another situation where this result would not be tolerated.

So far I'm working off these thoughts...

He should be responsible for the life he took of an innocent man that he was hired and trained to serve and protect. As an officer of the law, he should respect that same law and be held to it, being held accountable for his actions.

I hope to make the point that "I was lied to" is not an excuse that other members of society can use. "I was acting off misinformation, forgive my actions." won't keep a civilian out of jail.

Why has sovereign immunity become a catchall excuse that allows peace officers to murder innocent people?

Why did this lone officer break protocol, murdering a fellow citizen, when no other officer made the same action?

What is this officer's name and when will he be charged?

    -

I will have 5 minutes to speak.

    -

This is terrible for me as it happened a few miles from my home. I am taking it very personal.

Some of you may remember when my Jeep was stolen. When I was able to pick it up, the officer informed me that it was still in the system as stolen and could take a few hours to no longer be listed as stolen.

I told him I feared for my life as I did not want to shot for driving my own (stolen) car. He approached me angrily and asked, "you think we just shoot people?" I responded with "yesterday, I saw a video of a man getting shot 3 times for reaching for his ID after being instructed to by a peace officer, so yes." he just walked away.

At this point, I just can't believe it. I accept it when I read other articles, I justify crime in other areas, more aggressive policing tactics, anything to make me feel like this won't happen at home. It has, and as angry as I have been in the past, I want my voice heard for the families of those killed recklessly by police.

I can't write this or begin composing my thoughts without feeling the urge to cry. The flood of emotion is confusing.

    • I plan on addressing Wichita Deputy Police Chief Troy Livingston and Police Chief Gordon Ramsay during my 5 minutes though I will be called on by the mayorimbecile
    • Not to sure if I'm qualified enough for this but I have helped film scripts a few times.

last night i slept terribly bad.

i tossed and turned, and went from our bed to our son's beds at least 3 times in the middle of the night after they woke up crying.

at 3am our youngest woke while i was in his bed next to him and i vaguely remember rubbing my eye as it felt stuck shut. and, it felt really weird as i rubbed it.

at 4am when he woke again it was swollen shut.

at 6am when we all woke i had giant bags under both eyes, but my right eye was also swollen and puffy up top and i could barely see through it.

now, it's mid-afternoon and i feel a great sense of pressure behind my right eye. things are a bit blurry if i close my left eye only looking out the right and it's still swollen, although not as bad.

web md says I have mad cow disease and that I need to be milked within the next few hours and given a strict diet of hay and oats.

    anyone experience this before?

    Does anyone use JIRA?

They love it where I work, and I see the good things it offers for developers for tracking bugs and issues, etc.. But for design work, it sucks.

Addressing UI/UX problems like they are bugs doesn't really help the person in charge of improving them.

"It is confusing for the user which tab he/she is in if they select List View tab and then move to Map view."

You're pointing out a problem but you're not telling me if it's because maybe they can't see it, or the color contrast makes it impossible to find, or the text is hard to read... JUST TELL ME WHY!!

    </rant>

    • Sounds less like a problem with Jira itself and more the person logging the issue - though I agree that Jira was created for dev work, not design.bulletfactory

I switched to Spotify this morning because the UI of Google Play Music sucks. I like it very much! BUT BUT BUT... I just discovered that there's a limit of 10,000 tracks you can add to your library.... WTF WTF!!!!!!!!! I just reached it.... Now I'm supposed to delete stuff to make room.

    • WTF x1000 it sucks big time!Bennn
    • 10,000 tracks? How many Albums is that?oey
    • like ~600 albumsBennn
    • It really sucks... I prefer the UI of Spotify but it looks like I will need to stick to Google Music... their limit is 100,000 songs. Fuck!Bennn
    • Spotify is made for millenials who started listening music in 2008. I started listening music in the 80's ive got a lot to add! lolBennn
    • Just read each Playlist you create can contain 10,000 tracks max. So the solution is to split my main Library in Playlists...Bennn
    • good to know - am about to sign up for the free 3-month trialFax_Benson
    • "At the moment we don’t have plans to extend the Your Music limit. The reason is because less than 1% of users reach it."
      - Spotify
      Bennn
    • I'm creating Playlist like Main Library [A - J], Main Library [K - P] etc. to resolve the problem... it sucks cuz the albums are shown in big in the Library butBennn
    • only as a text list in the Playlists.Bennn
    • Music has changed people. We now have to think Playlists and not Music Library...Bennn
    • Why do you need to add them to your library? If you've got 10,000 you'll need to search to find things, so you may as well just search Spotify.MrT
    • Cuz I like to look in my Library to rediscover my music... Otherwise I may forget about some stuffBennn
    • I'm building genre Playlist at the moment to split the library. Its the only way. Like ive said each Playlist can contain 10,000 songs.Bennn
    • nahhh you switch because of the 3 months free deal.
i was about to switch but too late when i remembered....

    • I stopped building a collection on spotify years back after licensing issues would make albums disappear. Annoying as hellfuturefood
    • Spotify has changed the game, I have not opened iTunes intentionally for like 4 years at least. if you want to optimize how you search tunesMiguex
    • having multiple categories is way more efficient than having everything on a single folder, you might as well have no folder if you want to search 10.000 songsMiguex
    • I've had Spotify for 5 years now ..
      no complaints here.
      Ramanisky2
    • face_melter, is best to go to their shows and pay cover/ buy merch actually. That way the money goes directly to the artist and you can skip the label cutMiguex

    Benn,

Why do you need to download so many albums? Aren’t you on WiFi or data 95% of your day?

Anyone have clients (or themselves) using domains such as .design or .event in place of your standard .com?

I’m laying out some business cards but seeing ‘companyname.events’ or even ‘www.companyname.events’ feels off. The ‘www’ def helps but I still don’t think the public is that familiar with these new domain extensions. I fear I’m going to have to label it ‘website: companyname.events’ but that’s awfully convoluted compared to the rest of the info on the card.

Which is more important to boost search engine rankings?

Proper SEO / Keywords... or a constant flow of new content to index?

I was recently informed by 'an expert' that proper SEO / keywords are great at the outset but once the site has been online / idle it's ranking could go down if you're not constantly feeding Google new info to index (ag— a Blog).

...Borrowed a buddies manual transmission vehicle (learned 15+ years ago on it, was rusty, but managed)...

...On my way home shifting between 4th and 5th, it started making some strange sound(s) and than started to smell of burning...

    No luck.

Vehicle #1 needed a simple fuel regulator replaced: $300.
