I believe I am going to speak in Wichita as a community member on Jan 16, in regards to the officer involved shooting of Andrew Finch.

I was wondering if anyone here would be interested in assisting me in preparing my statement? Maybe help keep me on topic, make a strong comparison to another situation where this result would not be tolerated.

So far I'm working off these thoughts...

He should be responsible for the life he took of an innocent man that he was hired and trained to serve and protect. As an officer of the law, he should respect that same law and be held to it, being held accountable for his actions.

I hope to make the point that "I was lied to" is not an excuse that other members of society can use. "I was acting off misinformation, forgive my actions." won't keep a civilian out of jail.

Why has sovereign immunity become a catchall excuse that allows peace officers to murder innocent people?

Why did this lone officer break protocol, murdering a fellow citizen, when no other officer made the same action?

What is this officer's name and when will he be charged?

I will have 5 minutes to speak.

This is terrible for me as it happened a few miles from my home. I am taking it very personal.

Some of you may remember when my Jeep was stolen. When I was able to pick it up, the officer informed me that it was still in the system as stolen and could take a few hours to no longer be listed as stolen.

I told him I feared for my life as I did not want to shot for driving my own (stolen) car. He approached me angrily and asked, "you think we just shoot people?" I responded with "yesterday, I saw a video of a man getting shot 3 times for reaching for his ID after being instructed to by a peace officer, so yes." he just walked away.

At this point, I just can't believe it. I accept it when I read other articles, I justify crime in other areas, more aggressive policing tactics, anything to make me feel like this won't happen at home. It has, and as angry as I have been in the past, I want my voice heard for the families of those killed recklessly by police.

I can't write this or begin composing my thoughts without feeling the urge to cry. The flood of emotion is confusing.

    • I plan on addressing Wichita Deputy Police Chief Troy Livingston and Police Chief Gordon Ramsay during my 5 minutes though I will be called on by the mayorimbecile
    • Not to sure if I'm qualified enough for this but I have helped film scripts a few times.
Be great if all on QBN could jump in on this
