https://www.chelseat…Nairn - @Nairn, huh, interesting, I've never seen one of these (or maybe I did and thought it was a cheap Jeep, which it looks like ;-) )formed

It's cool to play around with this new tech but it feels a little Brett Bash-y to profit from it or to present yourself as an illustrator/artist/designer
- no using dictionaries either, you hack writers.imbecile
- If you work on advertising it's ok to rip off artists. Fuck them.NBQ00
- So what's the difference when "illustrators, artists and designers" borrow and steal ideas from: Behance, Dribbble, Pinterest, ArtStation, etc?utopian
- Everything is a Remix
https://www.everythi…utopian - if we use Hydro74 as an example, he's got a cool established style that he's honed over the years, if he starts using AI to further his art then all the power_niko
- ...to him, it's just an extension and progression of him as an artist, but if I start asking AI to make art and illustrations in his style and claim it as my ow_niko

Get a Brain...Morans Get Jerbs!
https://i.imgur.com/…utopian - Yeah it creates some ethical dilemmas...you don't feel total ownership of the stuff it cranks out. But I think artists will just need to take it further thanyuekit

- Bonkers. Hats off to these fuckers. They just turned the animation industry on its head._niko
- They just did in a studio of 10 and a budget of $0 in a few days what it would have taken hundreds of people months to complete_niko
- And if anyone’s interested they have a 1 hour tutorial on how you can do it as well. One. Hour. Tutorial. https://www.corridor…_niko
- actually surprised how much costuming and visual footages are needed for the AI to "re-skin"... it's not so much "animation" as hasty rotoscopingjonny_quest_lives
- https://www.youtube.…jonny_quest_lives
- Corridor Digital are just super talented as well... so budget of 0 isn't 100% accurate if generating viral videos is your revenue streamjonny_quest_lives
- https://www.youtube.…jonny_quest_lives
- still not gonna call it animation thoughjonny_quest_lives
- yeah more like "video filter"inteliboy

- A Scanner Dimlyimbecile
- I'm more impressed by their shot design and direction - is on pointinteliboy
- https://www.youtube.…jonny_quest_lives
- What I find impressive is how consistent the frames/ "animations" are. Barely any "AI-flickering"NBQ00
- Well done. This took human talent to make.jagara
- yep :)sted
- So you need to shoot live action BEFORE applying an "AI filter" lol
Barely anything amazinggrafician - Disney shot Cinderella as a live action film before applying months of work doing cel painted frame by frame animationsPhanLo
- Here comes grafician again, nothing impresses him. He's done it all, better than anyone, he knows everything better than anyoneNBQ00

These are tools for scammers, liars and for all the wannabe artists.
Results look like you're drugged, a chaotic mess full of optical errors. Viewer's brain compared to the man-made compositions, does a much bigger job to filter sensory gating and fit the details it into a construct that makes sense.
The result of this will be that the viewers get even more confused, pushed away from reality. Not to mention that such people are demanding rights to call themselves artists and copyright the output of a machine who can't even draw a fucking straight line on a paper.
- Midlife crisis?utopian
- The jokes below aside, I strongly disagree. I think this is actually going to change the world, unlike other things hyped by Silicon Valley recently.yuekit
- Think about when it gets incorporated into apps like Photoshop on a granular level. Just use AI to generate a texture for a layer or improve the color scheme ofyuekit
- your layout. You think people won't use that when it gets added in?yuekit
- Ultimately it's still a "dumb system"...and so it makes mistakes sometimes. But that doesn't mean it's not useful.yuekit
- I think more people will use it to deceive others than anything else.sted
- Like using printers to print fake money.palimpsest
- It all went wrong with the printing press. People used it to print...liesyuekit
- Wake up sheeple!palimpsest
- It generates such exemplary people like her (she was a low-end coder nothing more):
https://twitter.com/…sted - In order to use ps properly and make compositions you have to understand from proportions through shadows the basics of graphic design.sted
- A printer is an output device just like your display, these two things aren't comparable.sted
- AI is an IO software, what has heavy dependency on hardware and software. No human is actually required for any of that.sted
- Therefore, it can be unequivocally stated that the person in this story is only a spectator and not a creator.sted
- *person as promptersted
- I agree with you on the wannabe artists pov
For the actual artists, just a tool to eventually buy some time in some productions
The hype will pass soon enoughgrafician - Ok boomerNBQ00
- I just did a dozen t-shirt illustrations with the help of Midjourney. A very useful tool!pablo28
- I guess it's just a tool., but then so's a gun.zardoz
- In 6 months everything will be replaced with newer toolsdrgs
- @palimpeset - he called AI a machine, does that make your butt hurt again?canoe
- @pablo - please rephrase your sentence to, "Midjourney just did a dozen shirts with the help of my prompts". Don't start confusing yourself so early on.canoe
- Suddenly Midjourney has become sentient and has set up an Etsy page.palimpsest
- i'm in it for the drugged, a chaotic mess full of optical errorskingsteven
- The future will probably involve everyone frantically learning new technologies for a year, then it becomes obsolete.yuekit
- But actually I like the surreal aesthetic an app like Midjourney creates, which I assume is a byproduct of its failure to properly think like a human :)yuekit
