For the first time ever, the US reported more than 4,000 Covid-19 deaths in one day
The US reported more than 4,000 Covid-19 deaths Thursday -- the most virus-related deaths the country has reported in one day since the pandemic's start.
It's the third day in a row of record daily deaths from the disease, according to data from Johns Hopkins University, while the number of people who have been infected topped more than 21.56 million.
Here's how mutations could help the coronavirus evade vaccines
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's most recent forecast projected there will be between 405,000 and 438,000 deaths by the end of the month. The previous forecast, published December 30, projected up to 424,000 deaths by January 23.- Checks with binoculars*

We had 200 confirmed cases on Nov 27th here in Ireland. Yesterday, 6,500 cases. Locked down and schools not reopening for the foreseeable future.

For many months, The NY Times has broken down the numbers in a variety of ways. One of those ways is to separate states and territories into how they’re trending.
For example,
“where new cases are higher and staying high”
“where new cases are higher and going down”
“where new cases are lower and going up”
Etc.Today, Jan 11 2021, I saw something very alarming.
49 OUT OF 50 states fall under “cases are higher and staying high.”
Nowhere are cases going down.
