Haven't seen this mentioned but on the night of them leaving the European union the UK decided that the second Covid-19 vaccination injection would not be 3 weeks after the first, but postponed up to 12 weeks later.
Pfizer have tested the vaccine's efficacy only when the two vaccines were given up to 3 weeks apart.

- with their results of doing things their own way with covid-19 so far, I'm a little worried what this may lead to.Nutter
- Maybe they figure they can double the number of inoculations for the available stock in a short period by changing the protocol? Worries around super covid?monNom
- that is no doubt why they're doing it. Twice as many people who are 60-70% immune, instead of half of that who are 90%+
Problem is its not been tested that way.Nutter - Not a fan of taking half the medicine to spread it out. The irony is the elderly mostly voted for Brexit, and because of that they won't get second vac. as fastNutter

I came down with a very weird illness in last couple of days.
Coughing and severe aching, no fever though.
Going to get tested later.
Weird as I had a cold 2 weeks ago (1st one in a year despite usually getting about 3 a year, so the distancing works).
Feel like shit, slept most of y'day.
Woke up today shaking and coughing to the point of nearly vomiting.
I'm not sure what it is but it appears to be it I guess.
A little delirious so don't even know if the above makes sense.
It's everywhere in the UK right now so I would be very surprised if it isn't it?- thought I already had it early on!fadein11

December was the deadliest, most infectious month since start of pandemic
The U.S. also hit another grim milestone Thursday as it surpassed 20 million cases amid the emergence of a new virus variant and a slower than expected vaccine rollout.
The United States closed out 2020 with the deadliest and most infectious month since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, while surpassing 20 million confirmed Covid-19 cases.
More than 77,000 people lost their lives in December to Covid-19, while 6.4 million contracted the virus amid the emergence of a new virus variant and delayed efforts to get people vaccinated. The second-deadliest month was April 2020, with more than 58,000 deaths.
At least 227,651 new cases were reported on Thursday and 3,451 people died, marking the second-highest daily death toll, according to NBC News' tally.
The virus has killed more than 346,000 people in the U.S.

Well wife just tested positive today, she was feeling a little under the weather and decided to get tested. Kids and I feel fine, I’m assuming it’s not possible for us to live in the same house and not all get it
- I’ll keep you all posted if I die ;)_niko
- Godspeed to you and yours @_niko!!!ideaist
- would get everyone tested just to be sure.pango
- you shouldn't share the same bed. I've had family members get it and their kids and children not. she has to stick to the bedroom.shellie
- microban is a great 24 hour disinfectant that keeps killing after sprayed. disinfect anything she touches. everyone mask up including her.shellie
- Thanks guys, yeah she’s isolating in our bedroom, kids and I are doing our best to A) keep away and clean everything and B) how to do stuff around the house lol_niko
- Was debating getting tested or not, read that we should do so only if showing symptoms but might just do it anyway_niko
- It’s shitty because we did our best to stay safe, masked everywhere, didn’t see people outside our circle, no restaurants. Just groceries which in hindsight_niko
- ...Should have been all online, but after 9 months of Covid fatigue she/we were going stir crazy and shopping more and more especially around the holidays_niko
- Or it could have been one of the kids at school or me passing someone on my runs, who knows._niko
- My gf got it and I quarantined for 26 days with her and was fine. It’s good you’re there if she gets badhardhat

- It’s spreading much quicker but is it more deadly? It benefits the virus to not kill the host thus spreading it more widely, maybe this is how the Spanish flu_niko

Researchers from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), in collaboration with specialists from the University of Valencia (UV), have come up with a new system based on a high-sensitivity mass biosensor that continuously monitors signals for the direct detection of SARS-CoV-2 in environmental aerosols. The device, in prototype phase, makes it possible to assess the quality of the air and allows an early detection of the virus in inside spaces such as homes, classrooms, restaurants, cinemas or means of transportation.

I've been doing routine PUVA therapy for my psoriasis at the hospital 3 times a week for the last couple of weeks, and I've had two of the brain-tickler Covid-19 tests (fun; they make your eyes water, and — eventually — sneeze) and one antibody test.
All three came out negative, thankfully.
The restrictions and precautions work, people. Follow them.

8 new cases here in Melbourne...after 60+ days of nothing. Some cunt from NSW, which has had a number of new cases, has come to VIC and infected a small number of people...seemingly around December 20...wouldn't surprise me f we now have a mini outbreak here again.
But hopefully we're in a bettter position to shut it down quickly.
