    LOL:

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news…

A protestor failed to set fire to a European Union flag during the Brexit Betrayal march - because the material is flame retardant.

The material initially catches fire, but is soon extinguished as cheers of 'burn it' from onlookers turn to boos.

After a few more attempts at setting the flag on fire, the would-be firestarter sits down on the bus stop roof to take a closer look.

He appears to hold a lighter against the flame resistant material for a moment longer before jumping down from the roof.

    • quite a few amusing stories coming out of that shit march.fadein11

i dunno. as a remainer i'm getting pretty fucked off with the eu. they're so effing arrogant, lording it over their subjects, refusing to accept they're anything but right. and yet there's so much wrong with the institution, not least their constant over-lavish summits. i voted remain, but have always felt the eu needs to become more accountable to its members (us, the people)

as a result of this salzburg intransigence, i'm starting to think we should just tell them to stuff it, get the fuck out, and watch the cracks spread.

the eu needs to change - if they'd made any concessions to that fact before the brexit vote we'd probably have voted to stay in.

but no, they know best, and anyone who complains is wrong.

it's the beginnings of autocracy, and it'll backfire if they don't start adapting to some of these complaints.

unless of course, we're all being played.

    • from someone living in a constitutional monarchy... :)uan
    • but I agree, we are all being played in some or another wayuan
    • agree with the arrogant accountability. They and Cameron could and should have seen some of this coming and committed to some genuine reformsFax_Benson

I really don't know who to vote for when the election comes.

I was asked last night by a very good, politically-astute friend (whose father's apparently addressed the House of Lords in regards about Brexit) and I sat there stupid and embarassed, not knowing how to answer.

I don't want to vote any of the cunts, so... Green?

If I'm going to throw a vote away, may as well hoy it into the recycling bin...

    • Obviously.set
    • Yep - I agree Set - but the Corbyn faithful would argue he is against exactly that. Which is why he will never get close to power. I'll eat my hat if he does.fadein11

    • If you accept whoever gets in to power basically follows the same agenda, and that voting is pointless theatre, how can not voting boggle your mind too?set
    • You misunderstood - I would say Corbyn is a candidate against exactly what you speak of. The idea that your 'agenda' can never be opted out of is v.pessimistic.fadein11
    • Other nations manage it fine. The 2 party system of neolib tory vs neoliberal labour is supporting that system but doesn't mean it will always be like thatfadein11

    • But I fear you may have dropped too far down the rabbithole again. May as well kill yourself if you accept that view of the world. Silly boy.fadein11

    • May as well kill yourself or conform to the god-awful system that serves no one but the top 0.00001%. And you tell me I'M being pessimistic? hahaset
    • It's not pessimistic to enjoy your life and not waste precious energy or emotion on the most pointless of theatre shows designed to waste everyone's time.set
    • More information is coming out day by day, slowly exposing these people at the top and what they've been doing to humanity. People are waking up slowly...set
    • It's not pessimistic to enjoy life and wait for enough people to finally see the light. Enough people to actually change something.set
    • Rather than spending your life distracted and emotionally engaged in the theatre show, continuously voting for false hope over and over.set
    • I'm extremely optimistic about our future but I don't think wasting time voting for some cunt who works for the labour party is going to help much.set
    • You really don't know a lot about Corbyn do you. As I have now said 3 times - he is opposed to the system you (we) despise. If you think he is a puppet fine butfadein11
    • I disagree. His treatment in MSM and by his own party is proof of this. Anyway moving on - your getting your conspiracy knickers in a twist again :) Have a goodfadein11

on the visa issue, if you are travelling around europe, will you have to apply for a visa for each country you go to?

have the EU clarified the free-movement arrangement for british people living around europe?

      condescending prick
      monospaced
    • you think everything you say is correct and constantly insist people disprove you... and when they do, you call them names and generalize like a motherfuckermonospaced
    • and you constantly post stuff for the sole purpose of riling people up, and it appears that you've upset several people here with your bullshitmonospaced
    • Thats what a conversation is. I made a comment. the easily offended call out trolling. go ahead make an argument against mine. if i have no answer then im wrongyurimon
    • Yuri, this might give you some balance... https://news.liverpo…monoboy
    • ive upset people with opposing political views, what else is new? and people with opposing political views want me banned.yurimon
    • You are worst at conversation then. And I won't make an argument because unlike you, I know where my experience lies.monospaced
    • Video link... https://www.youtube.…monoboy
    • all you've done is yurinate in the side comments... let's see you post an argument/point and we'll all see how the "conversation" goesmonospaced
    • (hint, it'll be pure downvotes)monospaced
    • you do mostly comments and so do other people. so. and where your experiences lies is a cop out sorry excuse. because you spend plenty of time avoiding inyurimon
    • how you comment. you are the last to complain. some of my comments are sarcasm based on research. i could see where it might offend if you have no prerequisiteyurimon

    • all you had to do was post why support the EU. there are pros and cons but it seems its better to cut it now and start it again at least. keep it as trade onlyyurimon
    • not a politcal body with imperial ambitions.yurimon
    • yeah mono is not trolling yallyurimon
    • 'keep it as trade only'. Except that no freedom of movement means no trade agreement. If the UK doesn't trigger Article 50, we're effectively still in the EU.monoboy
    • All 27 members states stipulated that only after triggering article 50 will any trade negotiations begin.monoboy
    • They'd have us by the nuts. Big finance centres will switch from London to Frankfurt or Paris. A few big names have already hinted at this.monoboy
    • We'd have to re-write our entire legal system as well. Which will cost millions and take years. It's a fucking catastrophe.monoboy
    • Meanwhile, the BofE is going to pump billions more of taxpayers money to try and stop the banks from collapse.monoboy
    • We're going to see the biggest political backtrack ever. 1. UK keeps free movement for market access (stays in EU basically). 2. EU scraps free movement.monoboy
    • So what does this reveal to you if its true?yurimon
    • People are stupid.monoboy
    • This reveal that you are owned by the people who run the EU corporations. your gov is finished like in the states. only some ceremonial charade. onceyurimon
    • the EU gets stronger you can say goodbye to your time honored legal system all together and you will have more complete corp committee gov with a federal army.yurimon
    • What is planned for the UK from the dominant germany and france will be implemented. if they what UK to be unindustrialized because of some environmental reasonyurimon

"Under the radical proposals EU countries will lose the right to have their own army, criminal law, taxation system or central bank, with all those powers being transferred to Brussels.

Controversially member states would also lose what few controls they have left over their own borders, including the procedure for admitting and relocating refugees."
