I really don't know who to vote for when the election comes.

I was asked last night by a very good, politically-astute friend (whose father's apparently addressed the House of Lords in regards about Brexit) and I sat there stupid and embarassed, not knowing how to answer.

I don't want to vote any of the cunts, so... Green?

If I'm going to throw a vote away, may as well hoy it into the recycling bin...

    • "*in regards to" evendetritus
    • fucking hell "I was asked who I'd vote for". More speed, less haste, detritus. Or less speed, more haste - whichever's the one.detritus
    • heard somebody say they were going to soil their ballot the other day. That's next level eco-voting.Fax_Benson
    • no reason to be embarrassed. the choice is wretched. who's the politico friend voting for?Fax_Benson
    • ha! I was so caught up in my ignance, i didn't ask, out of horror. I remember her being LibDem, and she was supporting Labour as the only opposition...detritus
    • ..., so I got the impression she would vote tactically, in the vague hope that.. it'll never happen. I'll ask her. Put her on the spot.
      What an obvious get-out!

    • I'm not sure I trust anybody who says they're voting with conviction this time. How anyone sees anything in any of these clowns is beyond me.Fax_Benson
    • Me neither, man. It's all a crock.detritus
    • it's all a farce. I've reached a point I doubt they even count our votes...mugwart
    • We cannot have another 5 years of tories really can we.fadein11
    • Yes we can, fadein11. And we will, because it's apparently OK to' throw a vote away'. Apathy and ignorance comes very easily these days.Morning_star
    • i'm more apathetic than most toward main stream politics but labour would be a no brainer if i could -kingsteven
    • This quiz matches your beliefs to policy.

    • I'm no tory and I've never voted for them, but, I think this incarnation of Labour is a less appealing than the alternative.Fax_Benson
    • unfortunately where i am, id have to vote for a sleezy, conservative, anti-abortion cuntbag (SDLP) to ensure my vote would end up in a lib-lab pact.kingsteven
    • which is saying somethingFax_Benson
    • and the other local party that will transfer to labour (Alliance) and have a slim chance have shit for brains.kingsteven
    • The next 5 years will be horrific under the tories but I am no big Corbyn fan - a lot of naive peeps supporting him at mo. Some people seem to think he inventedfadein11
    • moderately left politics (his policies only look far left to people next to the current tory govt).fadein11
    • he's pretty far left. he's in that wing of leftist politics that values ideological purity over all. Not dissimilar to the Tories' brexit-if-it-kills-u... loonsFax_Benson
    • His policies are moderate left - not far left. They only appear that way because of how far to the right things have shifted.fadein11
    • nonsense fax he's an old school socialist. you're fucking brainwashed if you think a perceived "ideological purity" in multilateralism is in any waykingsteven
    • similar to the tories unilateral approach to brexitkingsteven
    • old school socialist is precisely what I meant. And it's not 'perceived'. The reason him and McDonnell were pro brexit is because they think the ensuingFax_Benson
    • wasteland is the ideal ground for their old-school socialist revival. The worse the better, just so long as he's got his safe Islington seat.Fax_Benson
    • He's fighting anti-Bennites that don't exist anymore. He's in a 1980s sixth-form political daydream. Only now he gets to play with the actual Labour partyFax_Benson
    • I do agree partially fax. But most of his policies I agree with. It's him as a leader and his team I worry about. He should be a policy maker not a leader.fadein11
    • May wants to recreate Thatcher's 80s. Corbyn wants to recreate the last time Labour were wiped out completely. Both doing a fair job.Fax_Benson
    • He hasn't got any policies. They're like Trump wishes. He's uncannily like Trump. Apart from the winning bit.Fax_Benson
    • Journalists give you a hard time today Jeremy? Never mind. Go and have a rally, make yourself feel better.Fax_Benson
    • yep I hate the way he only EVER speaks to his already converted faithful - that is one thing I cannot stand. But to say he has no policies is silly.fadein11
    • How people still rack their brains over who to vote for boggles my mind. It's all a puppet theatre show with the same cunt's hands up both puppets. OBVIOUSLYset
    • They laugh at us while we squabble endlessly over the small differences between the choices, while regardless the same overall agenda will continue.set
    • Obviously.set
    • Yep - I agree Set - but the Corbyn faithful would argue he is against exactly that. Which is why he will never get close to power. I'll eat my hat if he does.fadein11
    • on the flipside people who opt out of voting also boggle my mind.fadein11
    • yes set, i'd vote for heads on spikes... still i find it utterly insane that anyone can make any comparison between trump and corbyn.kingsteven
    • How can both boggle your mind, fadein? That's complete oxymoron...set
    • If you accept whoever gets in to power basically follows the same agenda, and that voting is pointless theatre, how can not voting boggle your mind too?set
    • You misunderstood - I would say Corbyn is a candidate against exactly what you speak of. The idea that your 'agenda' can never be opted out of is v.pessimistic.fadein11
    • Other nations manage it fine. The 2 party system of neolib tory vs neoliberal labour is supporting that system but doesn't mean it will always be like thatfadein11
    • It can be opted out of by abstaining from contributing to it. No one person is going to save the world by being voted in. The system is the problem.set
    • But I fear you may have dropped too far down the rabbithole again. May as well kill yourself if you accept that view of the world. Silly boy.fadein11
    • disclaimer - I am not 100% behind Corbyn for various reasons already stated. But he is clearly the only choice in this election.fadein11
    • May as well kill yourself or conform to the god-awful system that serves no one but the top 0.00001%. And you tell me I'M being pessimistic? hahaset
    • It's not pessimistic to enjoy your life and not waste precious energy or emotion on the most pointless of theatre shows designed to waste everyone's time.set
    • More information is coming out day by day, slowly exposing these people at the top and what they've been doing to humanity. People are waking up slowly...set
    • It's not pessimistic to enjoy life and wait for enough people to finally see the light. Enough people to actually change something.set
    • Rather than spending your life distracted and emotionally engaged in the theatre show, continuously voting for false hope over and over.set
    • I'm extremely optimistic about our future but I don't think wasting time voting for some cunt who works for the labour party is going to help much.set
    • You really don't know a lot about Corbyn do you. As I have now said 3 times - he is opposed to the system you (we) despise. If you think he is a puppet fine butfadein11
    • I disagree. His treatment in MSM and by his own party is proof of this. Anyway moving on - your getting your conspiracy knickers in a twist again :) Have a goodfadein11
    • positive day opting out xfadein11
    • you're*fadein11
    • You are SOOOO Brighton it hurts.fadein11
    • I've deliberately stopped insulting you and aim for a more refined exhange but you continue to hurl insults and digs at me, haha. Hypocrite extraordinaireset
    • No one is getting conspiracy knickers in a twist. If that's what you need to say in response to my perfectly calm, calculated and rational response...set
    • .. in order to convince yourself you're right. I get it, but you're not doing yourself any favours.set
    • You started out by agreeing with my but just couldn't help yourself, could you?

      :)
      set
    • Lol. I'm pulling ya pud like you do to everyone round here everyday.
But I do worry about you opting out of an election which is likely going to see the end of
      fadein11
    • the NHS. That alone should be a reason to vote against the conservatives no? Because it will be part of a US trade deal for sure if they remain.fadein11
    • as if "conspiracy knickers in a twist" is an insult! fucking idiot who goes round calling people simpletons because they disagree with you.fadein11
    • There you again, haha.set
    • There you go again, even. I'm not insulted by a word you say, I'm just pointing out that you do exactly what you constantly accuse me of.set
    • Even when I've stopped actively made an effort to stop doing it to you. You call me intelligent one day and a fucking idiot then next.set
    • May I suggest your own advice and calm down.set
    • you are bright for sure but behave like an idiot at times - is that better :)
Okay - sorry. I do get annoyed when people opt our of the system however fucked it
      fadein11
    • is because there is no way people will wake up and reform it from outside unless you propose a bloody revolution.fadein11
    • Sorry for mildly insulting you.fadein11
    • Much better. Enjoy your day..set
    • Hah, missed that last note. You didn't me insult me in the slightest, just pointing out your hypocrisy.set
    • sorry I made you feel bad then.fadein11
    • cor, I go away for a day and this happens?
Trust a religionist to take an off-hand word-play joke literally - if I was so apathetic, why would I post this shit?
