that's too bad, hope it wasn't because of his beliefs and he refused treatment or something stupid
- Interesting. Didn't know he was a Jehovah's witness.VectorMasked
- pretty certain he wasn'tmonospaced
- I think he was, it's been widely reported_niko
- From what I know about that religion, they really wouldn't be cool with the partying and dancing aspect of the pop star, y'know?monospaced
- They don't even celebrate birthdays or holidays, they're that stoic.monospaced
- I think he was, there are types of JWsdrake-von-drake
- understoodmonospaced
- Don't know if this is credible but...http://www.jwf...drake-von-drake
- he was... and once again mono... you are miles off on your understanding of a group of people you obviously don't like (I was raised a JW, my dad is one)PonyBoy
- I knew JWs growing up, and I'm not "miles off." If you didn't notice, I wrote "understood" because I understand there are different types now.monospaced
- I didn't say I didn't like them! Don't put words in my mouth!monospaced
- First off—you referred to them as stoic cuz they don't celebrate holidays or birthdays in the sense in which you do—how is that 'stoic'?PonyBoy
- And since when do JW's not 'party and dance'? :) You make some weird statements / judgements based on your feelings, mono... not reality.PonyBoy
- eh... don't want to argue w/you though :)
<3 I'd rather listen Prince and smoke this weed (cuz I'm not exactly a 'man of faith' so I'll stop yammering on here)PonyBoy - @pony, dude haven't you noticed yet, that's democrap logic, assume and ignore indisputable data and results from real experiences. Clownsdrake-von-drake
- +1 PBimbecile
- @PonyBoy, The JWs I knew weren't allowed to celebrate birthdays, and frowned upon things like dancing and parties in general. It's not based on feelings.monospaced
- They couldn't go to the school dances, fairs, or parties. Maybe they were extra stoic? Ugh, sorry, didn't mean to offend.monospaced
- You use terms like 'frowned upon' and 'weren't allowed'... did you ever stop and think they were happy to be that way? It was uncomfortable to you...PonyBoy
- ... but not necessarily to them. The things that you 'felt' were weird were indeed that to someone outside looking in... ... but just feelings. :)PonyBoy
- and they may have not gone to 'your' events but they had plenty of their own or perhaps others they went too—doesn't make them 'stoic' or anti-party, dude. :)PonyBoy
- Just makes them different.
Again... <3 Don't want to argue. I battle you hard from time to time and I need to chill on that... sorry to be so defensive. <3PonyBoy - I said, the JWs I knew followed the "rules" that they could not celebrate birthdays, for religious reasons. I'm not making an opinion, this was fact.monospaced
- I don't know how many times i have to say I understand it's not universal before you get off your defensive high horse and off my nuts. Holy shit!monospaced
- Jehova his Lorddrake-von-drake
- Your OPINION is that they are STOIC and don't dance etc (third time I've said this now)...which they are not. If it's not 'universal' why would you even say it?PonyBoy

- Nice, love it. I was planning on heading out to his Hollywood star, but he don't have one?! That's just baffling to me.sea_sea

Let's Go Crazy
Prince & The Revolution--
Dearly beloved
We are gathered here today
To get through this thing called lifeElectric word life
It means forever and that's a mighty long time
But I'm here to tell you
There's something else
The after worldA world of never ending happiness
You can always see the sun, day or nightSo when you call up that shrink in Beverly Hills
You know the one, Dr. Everything'll Be Alright
Instead of asking him how much of your time is left
Ask him how much of your mind, baby'Cause in this life
Things are much harder than in the after world
In this life
You're on your ownAnd if the elevator tries to bring you down
Go crazy, punch a higher floorIf you don't like the world you're living in
Take a look around you
At least you got friendsYou see I called my old lady
For a friendly word
She picked up the phone
Dropped it on the floor
(Ah, ah) is all I heardAre we gonna let the elevator
Bring us down
Oh, no let's go!Let's go crazy
Let's get nuts
Let's look for the purple banana
'Til they put us in the truck, let's go!We're all excited
But we don't know why
Maybe it's 'cause
We're all gonna dieAnd when we do (When we do)
What's it all for (What's it all for)
You better live now
Before the grim reaper come knocking on your doorTell me, are we gonna let the elevator bring us down
Oh, no let's go!Let's go crazy
Let's get nuts
Look for the purple banana
'Til they put us in the truck, let's go!C'mon baby
Let's get nuts
Yeah
CrazyLet's go crazy
Are we gonna let the elevator bring us down
Oh, no let's go!
Go crazyI said let's go crazy (Go crazy)
Let's go, let's go
Go
Let's goDr. Everything'll be alright
Will make everything go wrong
Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill
Hang tough childrenHe's coming
He's coming
ComingTake me away!

Not many people know that, not all the music he wrote was performed by him. One of his side projects:
- Saw him play this on piano on this last tour. Was amazing.fiver

Prince and Chyna both died while on prescription medication. It's a bit concerning a lot of the celebs are dying from pain killer addictions or benzos (Michael Jackson, Heath Ledger, Anna Nicole Smith, Whitney Houston, Robin Williams). Should this raise some sort of red flags here?
- I've heard of people getting hooked on painkillers, then getting heroin off the streets because it's cheaper and accessable.pinkfloyd
- a co worker of mine died from an Oxycodene overdose 6 years ago. Opiates are scary as hell.hotroddy
- Prescription medication addiction is a huge problem - the elephant in the room when arses pontificate about The War On Drugs.face_melter
- Jesus, what for the biopsy.drake-von-drake
- Seems like doctors have no fucken idea with the proper prescription for all these diff meds, and go by what the greedy pharmas tell thempinkfloyd
- and everyone is so different. Drugs don't affect people the same way, so dr's rarely know anything beyond a guideline and what the patient tells themformed
- Wasn't Robin Williams' death ruled a suicide?CyBrainX
- and marijuana is illegal. try to understand!Bennn
- why would the Gov raise issues with something they make money from thru taxDillinger
- Robin Williams was on meds with side effects of suicidepinkfloyd

We're currently losing all the biggest music icons.
Sadest part of this, those are the last music stars who would ever be that iconic and big. Musicians and artists these days will never become as huge as those.
- <sadly, this is trueRamanisky2
- What about Kanye?utopian
- lol ... nahRamanisky2
- But Kanye told us that he was a God and a Nubian King.utopian
- In all likelihood there will be people saying the same thing when Taylor Swift dies in the year 2079yuekit
- hang in there, Keith Richards!drgs
- music and the internet are dying. And QBN.fadein11
- I'm sorry to say,...but guise,...we are all gonna die. Part of life.ApeRobot
- Keith Richards just gained another 10 years todayRamanisky2
- Some people come,some people go.ApeRobot
- But it's indeed a great loss.ApeRobot
- dont agree with you yuekit.Bennn
- We way more music easily available today than in the 70s/80s. people just scroll and scroll. Very hard for a musician to become iconic.Bennn
- in the 70s when you bought an album, you knew you will listen to it A LOTS of time for a long time.Bennn
- Your right, entirely too much scrolling these daysyuekit
- I had to keep scrolling and scrolling to read all these commentsKrassy

Prince's crack head sister set to inherit $800 million fortune.
sheesh. lol- No will and testament? "Unless he left a will specifying otherwise." HOLY JEHOVAH! Seriously, WTF// also a $1,645 service??? I'd think he'd want a PARTY!drake-von-drake

He was so young! Tore me up for a while there. He created some of the kinkiest music ever. So much emotion. Respect.

- @CygnusZero4 wut? 57 is way too young for someone who has the zest for life and the drive to contribute to the world!Krassy
- @CygnusZero4 Prince was young in spirit too. So yea, he left us way too early.Krassy
- Sure, the body deteriorates but as we get older age is irrelevant. My dad died at 48, don't effing tell me that's not young either.sea_sea

These have his fingerprints and sound ALL OVER them.
That's because he WROTE THEM, those birds didn't
- he didn't write Stand Back but was into Stevie Nicks, he came to her studio, recorded the synths in a couple takes and left without asking to be credited.spl33nidoru
- that's not what I heard, but I'll take your word for it.drake-von-drake
- Later, when Nicks went into the studio to record the song, she called Prince and told him the story of how she wrote the song to his melody. He came to thedrake-von-drake
- studio that night and played synthesizers on it, although his contribution is uncredited on the album. Then, she says, "he just got up and left as if the wholedrake-von-drake
- thing happened in a dream."drake-von-drake
- http://www.inherownw…drake-von-drake
- so we agree :) I've heard a lot of stories from someone who was around during the recording of sign o the times, Prince basically had a bunch of instruments setspl33nidoru
- up around him, would ask for that bass, record a take with it, would give it back and ask for that keyboard, record a take with it, and so on..spl33nidoru
- and i don't mean like it usually happens in any studio, i mean building the whole song instrument after instrument, back to back, with hardly any pausespl33nidoru
- you know he might have basically stopped in and created the entire chord structure of the tune and just walked out. LOLdrake-von-drake
- if you can play the piano, generally most instruments especially guitar come easy, I dunno... he was a savantdrake-von-drake
