Adobe has single handedly put entire industries on notice.. your about to be unemployed
- https://i.imgur.com/…utopian
- Of course your are.palimpsest
- Maybe your but I’m not********
- You'rejmckinno
- because photoshop ai?monospaced
- My what is about to be unemployed?Continuity
- I watched a demo of a flat vector in illy turning 3D on a single click a couple days ago so yup.maquito
- Nah
Most of the stuff they presented is just concept work, just looks good, but we barely use that crap in production lolgrafician - Whereas I now have a sudden career in low quality line animations. Suck it.Nairn
- Finally!Krassy
- ill be flipping hamburgers very soonmilfhunter
- I'm about to be unemployed for reasons that have nothing to do with AI.CyBrainX
- Also, good luck trying to handle client revisions, using AI.CyBrainX

Well that's neat and also terrifying.

just deleted 404.05GB of after effects cache... again
- Jeeze... where is this stored on a mac?BannedKappa

- ^ THIS!CyBrainX
- I use an external SSD since 400gb of hard disk space is a pipe dream.MrT
- Avoid having to put cache on a local system volume; I make lots of 4+ minute animations so I have to have 500GB of cache on a 4-blade M.2 RAID card.evilpeacock
- i make ~daily 15-60 second vids. clearing cache is clearing cache. i'm not carrying around additional hardware from location to locationimbecile
- I just do what the Internet tells me. What could possible go wrong?MrT

Fucking hell, Adobe!
There's a breaking change in how the latest version of illustrator handles the tracking on type blocks. Which means I now get to go in and re-set hundreds of files that were ready to send to the printer.
What's worse is it's all regulatory copy that was a nightmare to fit in what space I had to work with. Gahhhhhhhh!
- Why not to install the previous version and prepare the printer files then?OBBTKN
- You're sending printer-ready files to the printer, no?OBBTKN
- In the spirit of being unhelpful; would that not be better set in InDesign?MrT
- Yeah, faster to roll back the version. They'll probably fix it in the next update.i_monk
- even better - they made you pay them $$$ for that fuck up.
adobe are the scammiest of cuntshans_glib - Fuck updates. I'm still running AI 27 from '22.Nairn
- FIGHT THE FUTURE!Nairn

the rotate option in illustrator is so finicky now. it won't just hover / switch to rotate without a delicate dance placing the cursor in just the right location
- ah haha, yes, that one. It's been like that for a while now, or maybe my hand-eye co-ordination's not hat it used to be.Nairn
- I just switch to free transform now for rotate.monospaced
- I often need to rotate around a specific stroke node, so use it a lot.Nairn

Adobe collects over $1B per month in Creative Cloud fees.
A billion a month! Unbelievable.
- why unbelievable?sted
- I mean it’s hard to imagine that happened, when I think back to learning Photoshop 4.0 or whatever in college********
- so if we divide by let's say $40 median subscription price, we get like 25M users still paying?
Poor bastardsgrafician - I think they said 33million********
- I think it's OK - they charge 'little' monthly and de-incentivised people to get a hacked copies. Smart.maikel
- You think that's nuts... Google (Alphabet) revenue this year is $300 Billion. And that's mostly from selling ads.mort_
- You can't get "hacked" it's all cloudgrafician
- I dont mind adobe, they always hand out half price subscriptions so £30pcm for Ae pshop illy indesign etc is alright.woowahesque
- Maxon can do one though C4D + redshiuft is now £150pcm. I mean are they not paying attention to the amount of freelance work out there atmwoowahesque
- Need a rate for individuals or studios pulling in under 100k ... or weve no choice but to go to cgpeerswoowahesque
- The rage is not about the prices, it is about Adobe having a monopoly and the apps being crap these days!grafician
- all adobe products are SAS. only the subscription based payment model works. now we can see what numbers they would have had if everyone paid for pssted
- BusterBoy0
I had an issue for ages...where I'd open Photoshop and it would take some time before I could operate it properly. You'd click something ...then it would just freeze. And would go on for sometimes a minute or so. After a while it would operate fine.
Then I found this solution...the issue has completely disappeared.
Fuck you Adobe.
- grafician-7
Apple used Adobe products like Photoshop and InDesign instead of Mac apps to showcase the new Macbook Pro
https://www.apple.com/macbook-pr…
Wonder how much Adobe paid them for endorsing their crap...
Imagine having the M4 Max and Photoshop still running slow...
- ********3
I have a 16 inch M1 Max with 32 GB of memory and when I try to export or resize an 5MB animated gif, every click gives me a beach ball that can’t even spin and I have to wait 10 to 30 seconds for it to become responsive again. Then I change one other thing like scale % or color palette.... 10 to 30 seconds wait.
Unreal.
- And I got DVs for stating the same fucking thing a post before :))grafician
- because the gif machine in Ps is entirely legacy code from decades ago. the entire program is a patchwork shitshow held together by piss and string.face_melter
- Yah so what should I use for gifs?********
- Also what an expensive piece of software that doesn’t work********
- Canva? Exports video too from what I remembergrafician
- lol $40/ month and the answer is “use Canva”********
- sab2
- WHAT!?!?monospaced
- How can I get this??monospaced
- Check the account page and even the Adobe home page. Was there too. Otherwise ask them via a chat! GLMsab
- I see the 50% off promo when I visit the home page for Adobe. Don't even need to be logged in. Might be region specific as this is AU tho.sab
- So I signed up, and then the ad showed up. Haha 1/2 off :)monospaced
- Good stuff mono!sab

Would you work for Adobe in a product design role?
Do you think you could make a slight improvement or is it just hopeless? Would you think it’s just better to give up on them as a company and try to work somewhere you can make a difference.
- There was a podcast I heard with the ux designers for PS. Doesn’t sound like they’re allowed to really touch anything. People get mad at the smallest change.monNom
- With the discovery frameworks we chose in Figma, the fantastic synergy between Figma and Figjam, and the almost 6y/o training and consensus with the tool..maquito
- I honestly couldnt even thing about using another tool. I'm absolutely charmed by Figma.maquito
- Bad management. You can't change it through product design. So no.grafician
- mg330
In Illustrator is there a way to restrict layers to individual artboarrds? As in, the layers don't apply to all artboards and are unique to an artboard?
- Wasn't this the default?!
Sorry I haven't opened Ai for a couple years now, maybe they changed the layers behaviour...grafician - There isn’t, and there never has been. But you could just do it manually.monospaced
- What mono said, and it sounds difficult to manage. How would this help you btw? Just out of interest...MrT
- Wasn't this the default?!

Surprised how many 'fake' accounts there are on Adobe Stock* selling work by others as stock.I, clearly, naively thought that the 'professional' sites would be more hot on this but they're seemingly taking the Redbubble approach of letting people upload whatever they want and hey ho.
- Only came across this as I've been trying to track down the artist of a couple of images and 99% of what I find is people reselling these works on other sites.
*To be fair Shutterstock seem equally as bad.
- monNom1
Black Friday thing was absolutely brutal. Not sure if it's the AI chat or new directives, but seems they are trying to limit it more. Got it in the end (it still exists), but boy it was a slog.
I bought the Affinity suite outright (50% off today). It is going to get a lot more attention from me this year.

Any good Figma plugin to export things for press?
...I've been not using illy for quite a long time, and I really won't like to export a pdf from Figma to finish up with illy.
